(I never truly understood why I wrote this poem...
Perforated lines scatter across my life
threatening it's very foundation...
My heart once fluttered,
Now stone cold to touch...
Waves of ice aged glaciers,
erodes the roof of the world...
From my window seat looking out,
Natures beauty takes my breath...
I rummage through my closet
find a story, it opens at last...
Disdain scratches at the door,
Terrified voices, hidden, HUSH...
Embers burn with malicious intent
the ashes spread a heavy blanket...

Acaulescent petals float to the ground...
Music casts a soft lullaby,
Children dance round and round...
With but a penny to show love,
Hearts beat stronger than ever...
