I never finished school. I was always far too eager and naive to want to live and learn for myself. That meant I had to learn the hard way. In many ways I'm glad that I did learn for myself. It takes courage to walk in the opposite direction.

Women wearing make up, men shaving off their beards, and to please who exactly? An imaginary observer? The abstract? Perhaps a fear plaguing our minds? How we perceive others, how we wish to be perceived, determined by a false notion of beauty.

When you was born, you was born wearing no make-up and they all declared you to be beautiful as they fought one another off to hold you. Whenever you feel that you need to wear make-up to look beautiful and to be loved, remember this.

Feminism today is no different than the Labour Party today; neither are what they used to be.

The best way to wind down is to wind up!

The only thing one can try to achieve in silence is nothing. It takes courage to speak out. A closed mouth is a closed cause.

A cause that excludes is a cause that soon concludes.

Material objects are here to be used. Do not cry over them. By all means cry for human suffering and cry for pain but never cry over a messy carpet. I'm sure the carpet will be the last thing crying for you at your funeral.

Help should be mutually inclusive and reactionary to suffering. If one person should suffer while the other not, then it doesn't necessarily become a case for equality but a case for justice.

If music doesn't touch your heart, you have no business being in parliament. A good politician is someone who can feel the music. Any politician that can open their heart to music can open their heart to the people.
