Blackened waves dance turbulently
as I float upon their surface...
This city looks different in the cover of night
No longer crowded with shoving strangers...
The clouds stalk the meadow leisurely
The skies changing into a deep, violent gray...
So many words left unsaid, only hinted to
But eagerly spilled emotions can turn sour...
I’m scared
That my mind is playing tricks on me...
Your silhouette’s outlined in the doorframe,
backlit by the television still flickering...
I thought this feeling was long gone
An elusive creature and I was their poison...
In a time long ago a girl lay in the woods
Her wings dirty, halo cracked upon the ground...
Green eyes
Darkly rimmed, mixed with molten amber gold...
Will we find each other when our worlds grow cold?
lost between the there and now...
I still keep your flowers on the kitchen table
A reminder of what once was and no longer is...
It’s okay. You don’t have to say another...
*another song of sorts, written in prose...
