Ice cream---cold as the lips I once kissed;
still, undeniably sweet...
Fantasies filled my everyday's,
befriending a raging star...
Instilled with simple formats of a limited mind
enclosed in a cage where potential once stood...
Words of pain,
pronounced everyday...
Closing eyes,
stifled yawns...
A phoenix rummages through the sky,
filled with the radiance of youth...
You plead with drops of crocodile tears
whimpers of fake sobs and sighs...
Days pass with hopes in vain
Confusions pouring, heavy as rain...
I have traveled far and wide,
befriended more than few...
A poem, with its words and metric rhymes,
knows no bounds, no space, no time...
Twilight approaches as leaf by leaf turn hue,
when night overwhelms soft embers to dark-gray...
And so the fog thickens as I reach out to you;
the darkness engulfs me...
