The sun creeps o're the freshly fallen snow
To light the world for such a gorgeous sight...
In this quiet, humble place,
I close my eyes and seek thy face...
Passing time is not enough
To dampen such a light...
I've spent and wasted life and love,
Endured the pain, found no relief...
I wander now along life's path
And through the darkness still...
I reach for you, the distant star,
Only to find you a bit too far...
When last we spoke the dragons wrath was ended,
And our hero home returned...
**I wrote this poem for a friend for her new...
I've looked and waited, wondering lost...
**For my Battle Buddies at Basic Training**
A ragged band so young, diverse...
As we turn down unknown roads,
We carry with us our weary loads...
The path of life does twist and turn
And follows a pattern unseen...
I see the hills and empty fields
Encased in dusty hue...
