They were there without thrill
Holding only their guns...
This poem is dedicated to the 72nd Sea forth...
The battle ships rose...
Well a brave warrior lay dieing
with his weapon by his side...
In the times of misery, war and strife,
Where a man wields only his gun and his knife...
Oh God of earth and altar,
We need thee by our side...
When my heart was out of strength and will,
My eyes would well up tears...
