On this independence Day.
We look back at the years that has past...
our first moon dance seemed
to last a thousand nights as...
the Pride flag dances
with glee now its red can flow...
Ages speak and roll its time,
And never is her language known to us...
He/She who fought for my freedom, I thank you.
Every time I see a soldier, I say thank you...
Why did the rain fall sting on all my days
and why did branded skin refuse to heal...
Snaking veins do clot and crawl the
upper screams of slaughtered fools...
They were all there;
so many faces and...
There you stand, as you have for so long
an imposing structure, softened by song...
.
expectation waits...
I knew this was what I wanted,
Though your heart seems broken...
sitting in the dark
was a girl so alone...
