Poetry.com

I entered one of my poems into a contest at poetry.com and later got a letter saying that i was a semi-finalist and my poem was going to be published
ive been hearing its a scam and that they just want people to pay 50 bucks and someone said they just went to a page in a users manual changed a few words and got the same letter
id advise people against buying the book even though im not completely sure
does anyone have their own personal experience with the contest that would behelpful?
