A Question. [wasn't sure what topic to put this in]

Umm, well, I was just wondering if other people get dizzy alot. Because I do. Like if I stand up to quickly or something I'll get a major headrush that makes me feel like I'm going to pass out [I've never passed out though]. But I'm not really bothered by that, I'm just used to it. Recently however, I got sort of freaked out, because I was shopping one day by myself, and as I was walking along just in a straight path, all of a sudden the world just seemed to spin around for a second. And I fell.
Now that hadn't ever happened to me before, and so I was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences.
    Thanks.

Sounds like you might suffer from vertigo. Go to your dr. and have it checked out.

If severe enough they could give you some type of medication.

Vertigo, a specific type of dizziness, is a major symptom of a balance disorder. It is the sensation of spinning or swaying while the body is stationary with respect to the earth or surroundings. There are two types of vertigo: subjective and objective. Subjective vertigo is when a person feels a false sensation of movement. Objective vertigo is when the surroundings will appear to move past a person's field of vision.

The effects of vertigo may be slight. It can cause nausea and vomiting and, if severe, may give rise to difficulty with standing and walking.

Normally, vertigo is really easy to treat. It can also be the cause of the ringing in your ears from time to time as well.

Everyone actually suffeers from vertigo at one time or another, but it is usually very mild and does not even fathom a call to the dr.

However, in your case you need to talk to your parents and have them take you into your family physician. Just let them know that the attacks are more frequent and causing you problems with your balance.

Shhh.... my nice side is a secret from everyone. I am a meanie that is out to ruin lives (just ask my children when they get grounded)... LOL
