Starving Dog as art...

A Costa rican artist Guillermo Vargas also known as "Hubacuc" tied up a street dog which is said to be starving as a work of art in a major art exhibit.

It is said that after the exhibit the dog died... So do you think the artist's work could be called "art"?

If death is art, then I should not want to see any more art

Some people think that it is, I don't when it comes to hurting any one of gods creature or using real body parts like in an exhibition somewhere where the "artist" used human body parts in his art, it represents life and death but still it's real human body parts I'd prefer to see fake body parts in an exhibition than real ones

Lol... Its funny that "Hubacuc" did this not to highlight hunger but to prove to people that everything you hear and see, shouldn't be taken seriously... The artist dealt with the issue of hunger, animal cruelty and the whole notion of unbiased media with haphazard care...

But it woke people up into doing what they're supposed to do which is help out their own world more

People get away with stupid crap by calling it art. It's ridiculous. I'm not an animal activist but that's just wrong. Art is Duerer or van Gogh or Michangelo. This BS 'modern' art is just a tasteless and pathetic attempt to become an artist when one is clearly not talented enough.

Haha you always have the wacky things to say. How are you? Haven't spoken in ages (haven't been on the forums for ages actually!).

    You still speak to Sam?

Anyway - This was a hoax - and I think its sad that it had to take the fake death of a dog to get people to react. Wonder if all it did was spark that rage in people when they thought the dog was dead, and when they found out it was a hoax if their rage at animal hunger ended there or if they actually did something about it? Probably not. Probably just let it die away... starved rage...

Its funny - I think humans dont actually have a problem with all this crap - I think they just like to have something to complain about and get vocal about cause when they have the potential to make a difference - they do the same thing they always do - walk away and ignore the problem.

I guess it depends on your definition of art,I don't see that he created anything,I believe that art often has a message in it but I don't think that just because his display held some message made it art.I don't see any creativity in starving an innocent animal or any significant message in it either.
