Well i am considered emo among my friends and at school. Emo to me is a life style. I freely express myself w/o worry of wat others think of me. I used to cut but that was b4 I even started dressing in drag. I am infact bizexual, but I know a lot of ther girls who are Emo as well and they are pin straight. My best friend is Emo and he is also straight. His hair is jet black and it is cut os that one side is always covering his face. He has never cut in his 17 years of life and he is straight as well. The only reason I think people make these assumptions is because people who are considered Emo are comfortable enough with themselves to express their sexuality and might also suffer from depression which can lead to cutting. If u have any questions feel free to ask me. =] Hope this helped |

-sighs- 'Emo' did used to refer to 'emotional punk' or 'emotional rock' music. To call someone 'emo' or 'a emo' was to call them a genre of music really. Words and meanings, culture and sub cultures etc change though and now emo largely refers to the 'new goth' era, as the late 90a and early 00s are over. |
