Below is an article. all of these people i know/knew. all of them go/went to my school. the tragity (sp?) is felt across the entire school. even though i didn't/don't know them well, the fact that i know them at all it heartbreaking. especially after my friend dying in a drunk driving accident less then 8 months ago. the info is incorrect though, its 4 juniors and 1 senior.

Boy, 17, Killed In Crash On PCH, 3 Teens Injured
MALIBU, Calif. A 17-year-old driver was killed and three other teenagers were injured, one critically, when a station wagon rolled over and crashed in Malibu, authorities said Wednesday.

The accident at 32020 Pacific Coast Highway was reported around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, a Los Angeles County fire dispatcher said.

Cody James Murphy of Newbury Park was killed, Craig Harvey of the coroner's office said.

The car was occupied by five 17-year-olds, four of whom -- including the driver -- were seniors at Newbury Park High School, Brooks said. The fifth teen was from nearby Camarillo, Sgt. Philip Brooks of the sheriff's Malibu/Lost Hills Station said.

Murphy lost control of the 2007 Subaru station wagon on PCH, which caused the vehicle to roll over several times before landing on its roof, Lt. Debra Glafkides of the sheriff's Malibu Station said.

A 17-year-old girl was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center in critical condition with a head injury, while two boys with hip injuries were transported by ambulance, the county fire department reported.

Another boy was examined at the scene and released, Glafkides said.

The teens had reportedly gone to a concert in Hollywood where they drank alcohol, and then went to the Santa Monica Pier, where they continued drinking, Brooks said.

An empty alcohol bottle was recovered from the vehicle, which was registered to the father of one of the surviving teens, Brooks said.

PCH was closed overnight, but reopened early Wednesday and some of Murphy's friends and his brother, R.J. Murphy, went to the crash site and placed flowers at the scene.

"He played football for Newbury Park High School," Murphy said. "He ran track for Newbury Park High School. I don't know, he's the greatest, the greatest, the greatest guy you'll probably ever meet in your life."

Patrick Moss, a friend of Murphy's, also visited the crash scene.

"It hasn't hit, registered at all because, you know, we saw him yesterday -- same, regular day -- and then you wake the next morning and it's completely different," he said.

Grief counselors were at Newbury Park High School.

let us all pray for cody's family and friends, along with melanie, who is barely clinging to life at this time. axel broke his pelvis, and i am unsure whether it was jared or mateen that was the other boy that broke his hip.

    That is so tragic!!
a similar thing happened to my dad
so I know how painful it is.
Drunk driving is never advisable no matter what the situation.
I send my condolences to his family and loved ones and hope that they
    manage through this painful time

About 2 months ago close to my house i heard that there had been a huge car crash. anyway, i thought well you know its really sad but i for some reason just had an awful feeling about this. the driver was a 16 year old with no license who was drunk and had stolen his fathers car, the 3 guys in the back all survived 2 walked away with cuts and bruises, 1 is on life support and not doing 2 well and the guy driving and another guy who i was really close friends with through out my primary school years sadly died on the scene. it was so so sad, i miss him more each day.
