What are your opinions on animal cruelty?

I agree with Ricky. While it is wrong to hurt anything innocent it does take second to human cruelty. I never understood how so many people could cry out against animal cruelty and yet not lift an eyelash to Rwanda or Darfur.

Not as important as humanity? (unless of course you don't mean.. "humans", you just mean humanity, in which case i sound like a tard.)

AHAHA. HA. HA HA. HA. for all i believe we should've never come into the world. what good have we done? none. none whatsoever for what was here before us, and we certainly won't leave the world a happy place. we have chopped down endless rainforests, abused and killed countless animals, polluted and shi**ed up the environment, and, the poor amounts of dogs, or raccoons, that were slowly tortured to death by us, aren't as important as us?

we are sadists, we kill each other, we kill things around us, we lie, we hurt, we deceive, we're too intelligent for our own good and we have control of everything around us- and we don't take care of anything but ourselves. there are only a few sane people in this world, and they believe what i believe.

we are NOT more important than animals, or birds, or bugs or trees or plants or bushes. i'm sorry, we're just not.

Haha. I get both sides. I think we've done nothing to become better than animals. Just because we get to express our feelings through speech, it doesnt mean that they are less important, or dont have feelings.

HOWEVER, i believe that because humans are often referred to as the superior race, i do get that some people would believe that animal cruelity isnt as important or as big an issue.

My opinion?
Its wrong.
But there is A LOT of wrong stuff in the world and as much as we dont like it sometimes it will not go away.

The Universe does not exist without humanity.

How so? there are still animals, there are still trees, plants, bugs, oceans, sea creatures.

the only thing we do is ruin.

Why does everyone think man is always right? It's not right to harm an animal. Some ppl say that I am being a selfish bitch because I am defending animals instead of ppl. Well, when it comes to ppl they CAN defend themselves when it comes to abuse, but animals? They can't? Why do you ask? Because this generation of so called "ppl" think it's ok to hurt, torture, kill, and manipulate all things smaller than them. So yeah I might be defending an animal, but animals don't cause as much pain as a human now do they? They might if you step into their home or their property and they do just as a human would do: attack. But they get put down for it because as these pig headed no feelinged asses we call "humans" think that because they attack they need to die. So, the next time someone comes into our territory should we react and get shot at? Or should we just be like robots and act like all the rest of this pig headed world?

That is what i was trying to get at all along, bob. the animals were here FIRST.

Lol...actually yes it does. Anything that is living can and will effect us, everything has a purpose in life, wheather it be a small task or big, they all provide a life in which is livable, you take it all away, and we in the process will in the long run be exterminated to say the least (become extinct)

Animal cruelty is wrong!!! They are living beings just like you and me!

People get so caught up in animal cruelty that they forget the child abuse that's happening all the time. No offense, but humans are more important than animals.

I dont think that a dog should put down for atacking a human, the dog knows know better. same with shark atacks, and things like that.

Exactly 2weak2smile.....they are just using their animal instinct. Same as if one human attacked another your reflect may be to strike back. Animal cruelty is wrong and so is all the bad that goes on between our human race. Its all equally bad I think!

I'm against it, but really that was way back... animal cruelty these days is way less than before, actually now humans are more abused than animals, so I think we should focus on that first then go to the animals.

Even purely on the basis of logic, cruelty (of any description) seems 'wrong'.

The meaning is in the two words itself, it's CRUEL.

anyone who preforms animal cruelty has issues beyond of what i can understand. in a sense, animal cruelty is almost as severe as child abuse. except one difference, a poor denfeseless animal cant call out for help. =(

I am really against it, i think people should care more about this issue.

Animals are mostly innocent, they don't do anything to us that can uterly destroy us. If anything we should be cruel to other humans, they are the ones who can ruin our life.

(I'm not suggesting you go out and kill someone btw.)

I believe that any human being willing to hurt an innocent animal that has no means of defending themselves should b punished....as the same goes for another human being to hurt another unarmed human being in which he or she has no way of defending themselves...they should all be punished and put away......i just dont see how some ppl can do that to innocent animals or humans....its just cruel...and i do hate them...and i know hate is a hard word but they shouldnt hv a pet if they cant look after it simple as that

I would rather that my sausages and bacon weren't tortured to death before they entered my mouth. Apart from that, no real thoughts.

I love animals and would never be cruel to a defenseless creature but I do wonder this...Some people get so involved in animal rights and try so hard to stop the abuse when there are thousands of innocent children out there being abused everyday,If I have to choose to help one ,it would be the child.

anyone who is cruel to animals should have someone be cruel to them. to make them see how the animal feels.

To me animal cruelty is no different than the cruelty that we (human beings) put each other (our own kind) through. People who do either or both sicken me. Pets to me are as close to me as family; like a little brother or sister, niece or nephew, etc. & I would do anything to protect them.

We, as human beings, are by far the weakest & most dependent species. As someone mentioned above, who came first animals or man? Who will be left in the end? Certainly not the weakest & dependent species. If humans ceased to exist then life would carry on as planned.

I love animals <3 and I don't think anyone should treat them wrong..and those commercials on animal planet about animal cruelty..I water up everytime..But I do think there is alot of issues in the world that also need to be addressed..Like all the starving people in Kenya..it shows that even IF humans can defend themselves..that doesn't mean some of them aren't starving..or being raped..or not being able to feed their infants because some idiot cut her breasts off for believing in God. Yeah..I don't think EVERYONE can defend themselves..otherwise there wouldn't be lawsuits all the time and dead people...and holocaust never would of happened..or slavery..If people could defend themselves..And ya know what the same for animals..They are truely a gift and they deserve ALOT more respect. And I like the point someone gave about how humans think they can kill a animal because it bit them and it's automatically the animals fault?? I disagree..it's rare that an animal attacks without feeling like someone stepped on it's territory..BUT..there have been times when some animal just wanted to be a mean little creature and bite the crap out of someone for fun...but yeah..that's just my take on all of it lol

Dont hurt animals

I think the punishment for animal cruelty should be way harsher than it is. They are living, breathing beings that can feel pain, and emotions. I think it is just as wrong as human cruelty, and should be punishable in the same way.

I don't like it at all..animal cruleity is sad how someone can do something so mean to an animal that didn't even do anything to them and is so great...it makes me sad how people would treat an animal I hate seeing on the tv of all the animals that need a new home because the person who owned them beat them...so I am aginst it all the way.
