But I need a piece of hope.
Without you, I'd never live.
I don't know how I'll cope.

I've lost my best friend,
My akward ex-lover.
People like you are special,
And just so hard to discover.

What's this? No, it's not possible.
I didn't think about you today.
It's been the very first time,
Since you've gone away.

It appears I've made the mistake,
Of falling out of desperate lust.
I've got a couple memories,
Phone calls, notes, and a ton of trust.

Have I now forgotten you,
In just two short weeks?
Your smile, your face,
Your ways and techniques?

But, if you ever decide to come back,
Know that I'll be right here waiting.
I'm not going anywhere,
Loneliness is what I'm hating.

Painful please

Painful

I closed my eyes to lock away,
The hurt that raged inside,
The bitter anguish of the dream,
I lost because I lied.

Truth was not a friend of mine,
For secrets, she can't keep,
There were things I couldn't share,
The ache just ran too deep.

You didn't know the darker side,
I harbored all along,
That little corner of my mind,
That couldn't right the wrong.

I let it eat the world away,
Didn't care to look,
Until one day I came to see,
It was you it took.

A painful end that had to come,
So I could finally see,
I didn't love myself enough,
For us to ever be.

A train wreck from the very start,
That led me here today,
Letting go of everything,
That holds my heart at bay.

A journey deep inside my soul,
To find a sense of peace,
Demons burned inside the flames,
Of heavens sweet release.

Shatter my silence within the four walls of mind,
For sepia images of you have become intertwined,
Mixing burnt chemicals of my hearts imagination,
Replay becomes paused dealt with procrastination.

"It's my fault" I hush with the ink of black pen,
Delaying outcomes now makes no difference to then,
Video clips whisk within the "What ifs" and "Whys"
Though still I refused to listen to regrets goodbyes.

Her taunting words were sketched into my work of art,
"He told me he loved me" Hun, he loved me from start,
Though your lies were smart I'll forgive but not forget,
As were both living in the past of your stinging regret.

The dog is the title

I'm like a dog when it comes to you
you leave me constantly
im left with bottled up agony
you have my heart and i want it back
so i search for you without lack

i've found you tracking your steps
your as beautiful as the day you left
the reason i love you has been kept
so i look into your deepest depths

i try to find what you constantly hide
i know its there but not easy to find
the truth can come out with some alone time
but i see it in her eyes when she looks into mine
i feel it in her heart and its on her mind
i want her to admit it so we both can be fine
but she won't! she has denied me for the last time!!

She needs me so i act blind to the pain inside
and numb the wounds which causes my hopes to die
do this for me please
come with me she pleads

how can i deny such beauty
she feels as if she owes me
she reveals her feelings for the time spent
i share my love with her once again
without a word or thought our relationship ends
and im force to start all over again

Question of the heart ...

Sixteen and needing answers ....

This feeling overwhelms me
an answer I really need to know
is there a cure for a broken heart
or is it chronic cause of woe

Is there a special pill to take
that will lessen this aching pain
or will this heart forever drown
in this endless stream of rain

Is there a magic button to press
for memories I wish to delete
or an injection for happiness
to once again feel complete

Thirty-six and finding the answer ....

Finding an answer to the question
took me many, many years
but I think I've finally found it
after spilling plenty of tears

To properly arrange my thoughts
knowing I would need plenty of time
accepting the reality that he's gone
was the first hill I'd need to climb

Seeking answers, to the why and how
near drove me straight to my death
begging and pleading for resolution
realizing he wasn't worth another breath

Acceptance freed the denial
that lingered painfully in my mind
and released the happiness
that pain and anger held confined

Closure came through time and tears
realizing we were never meant to be
I loved and lost, yet will love again
And perhaps this loss was meant to be

So Simply ...
You may feel numb and broken, but
there is no simple cure for a broken heart
acceptance to closure needed
before a new love can start ...

It seems these songs are getting more attention then i had planned so i added an extra spot for each song and right here waiting was wanted alot and its my favorite song by staind so i gave it 4 spots...

Four Walls

a four-walled room
a closed-door hell,
a windowless cave,
this place i dwell...

these four tall walls
paint, plaster, stone,
create one room
that i call home.

a top and bottom,
roof and floor,
still no window,
still no door.

the carpet's cold
and caked with mud,
i scratch the walls
i laced with blood.

there's no way out,
there's no way in,
trapped inside
with all my sin.

Iside these walls,
inside this room,
my echoed heart
beats so entombed.

one wall bends as
one wall shakes,
one wall quivers,
one wall breaks...

goodbye, four wicked walls...

Im sorry im so late...kept getting side tracked anyways here is my conclusion.

i opened a spreadsheet and gave a mark depending on flow and the depth that the poem when into and i judged both out of 10....everyone did very well the lowest mark with 18/20 which is very respectable. i'll post the top 3 with their score out of 20 beside their names

3rd Damont(19/20) - Even though you didnt follow the title at all i love the poem. i think you wrote it as a song cause i singing the words while i was reading haha :)

2nd Slavetothe music(19.5/20) - I loved alot of the lines in this poem which is the reason you got marked so high haha. it had really big words but they mostly made sense to me, which is a +

1st Luanne(19.6/20) - Im not sure why I like this so much and have thought over a few times whether i liked it enough to be number 1 or not but it prevailed and you win :)
