Okay I want to ask this simple quetion

If a person told you her religion would you make a fight over it if she said she wasnt a christin??

  • Milton

No. seeing as how I'm not a Christian I would not care at all.

  • dark blue eyes

No, I believe in coexistence. You shouldn't bash someone just for believing in something different than you do. A lot of religions are very similar to Christianity as well...even if you don't realize it.

Hells no, she has just as much a right not to be a Chrisitan as anyone else has the right to be one... its all what we've been brainwashed to believe who knows whats right? Not a Christian and not a non believer.

  • sibyllene

No. People believe what they believe. As long as they're informed and not harmful, I'm good with it.

    An alternate question:

If you were non-Christian, and someone told you that she was Christian, would you look down on her and try to talk her out of her "naive" beliefs?

  • Dawn aka Dominique

No I wouldn't she can believe what she wants to believe yeah I agree.........honestly it woudn't matter any so why do you ask?

  • Lethmelodis

Nope. I'm not a Christian either, so thats one reason, another reason is I know that religion in most cases is about compassion for others and the enviorment around you, would be pretty hypocritical to jump down someone's throat for not being like you...

But I guess most people are hypocrites ^_^

Yeah today's people I swear I transferred to a new skool this year, and there are lyke so many fake people it's not even funny! And sometimes it's like i just wanna get away!

I have no problems with anyone regarding their beliefs.

But if someone disrespects me and my beliefs, I'll fight and question them to the death.

  • Alex Marlatt

No of course not. I'm Atheist. But on the flip side I wouldn't try to disprove someone who stated that they were Christian, or Muslim, or Jewish, or Hindu, or Buddhist, or Pagan/Wiccan, or any other denomination.

  • Lonely Rider

No i wont fight... I dnt care much about religion... Everyone have their own beliefs and one should should respect other's faith...

    Sam,

She was asking this question because in another thread, she came out and stated her religion - which isn't a very common one compared with others. After that, someone entered the conversation and began to mock her faith.

I think the point of the question was to kind of get back at said person through the responses of others.

I see your point, though. And I'll wheeeee along with you. :P

No i wouldnt. and i hope that person would not try to shove his/her religion down my throat. thats the only time i argue..when they try to convert me.

but no, i wouldnt care. all my friends have different religions. im buddhist, i have an athiest, catholic, another buddhist, christian, muslim...yeah

^^ No offense to you, but I love people who justify their statements with their friends. I'm not racist I have black friends! And you'll still laugh at a racist joke. Who cares? Truly one day we'll have a truly liberal society where your religion is your business and it doesn't matter. Unless you're stupid.

  • StandStill

    Fighting over religion IS pointless.

you believe it, so you're going to defend it. and both sides KNOW they're right....so fighting over it, you're never going to win.

  • Keath

Fighting over religion is the most stupid thing that has ever crossed human mind. Just like every other type of racism. For my part, she believes she's a holy acorn. As long as it makes her happy and I don't have to join her, I'm fine. ^^

  • Gizmo

Nope, because ithats her beliefs and you have yours. its stupid.

If a person told you her religion would you make a fight over it if she said she wasnt a christin??"

I'm assuming you mean that if she's not christian, would you taunt her and tell her she's going to hell...Hmm?

Well, that's the funny thing, you can do that, however you have to ask yourself "Are you God or even a chosen one to cast your judgement against those who are different from you"...

If your answer is No, then there you have it.

All religions are based on weakness and control. If that's your bag: go for it. Personally speaking I love life, so I'll leave my relationship with the world around me (God, nature, whatever you want to label it) untainted by pliable rules and restrictive conventions intended to ostracize and segregate. We let Government do that enough as it is.

  • Kaitlyn Gilbertson

I'm a christian and i wouldnt make a fight about it, I would like to see more peope with an open mind...well open enough to see over peoples points. I think that Christians are targets for controversy so we tend to know what to say when it comes to an argument, I mean really, they teach little kids in Sunday School. I guess that it would be stupid to actually FIGHT, I happen to be friends with a muslim and all we ever do is compare and contrast religion beliefs. NEVER FIGHT.

  • Alex Marlatt

I'm atheist. So it'd make little to no sense if I called her out on it.

  • DeathsRose

I'm an athiest and have been for a long time. People always fight with me over religion. Every Catholic I know tries to argue with me and make me become a Christian. I will never become something that I do not agree with. I always try to talk to people and get them to see my side, but it never works and so arguements get started.

  • Kaitlyn Gilbertson

Oh my, thats not right. You are who you are... and your not gonna change with an argument. haha.. like i said the easiest question to ask is what do u do if atheism is wrong?

  • dark blue eyes

I'm Roman Catholic, my BEST friend is Wiccan... also have a Jehovah's Witness friend, a Buddhist friend, a ton of atheist friends, and yet also a lot of Christian friends. People can learn to get along with each other without worrying about religion. We were never meant to be the same anyway.

Yep me too, Religion kinda breaks bonds sometimes...so its not the first topic your bring up in a convo.. =] Right next to politics.

I'm not cristian would you have a fight over it with me? .... I wouldn't fight with anyone no matter what their beliefs are, I could talk to them bout my religeon and ask them bout theirs but I wouldn't fight over it... I believe that as long as you believe in a higher forse which controls us and looks over us then It doesn't matter. I don't believe people who say they don't believe in a higher forse because thats what makes life pointless and miserable even if they deny it I don't believe them.

  • Selfrejected

''I believe that as long as you believe in a higher forse which controls us''

No higher force controls anyone just gives the gift of life. You have the free will to do with it as you will until you die.

About people who do not believe, I did not believe in God or any concious in the universe besides humans until science proved there is no way we could exist without having something bigger and better than us. I was no miserable and I didn't find my life pointless up until that moment. So, I have no clue what you're getting at there.

  • Robie Lincer

No i wouldnt, because everyone is free to be in any religion they are in, who am i to judge anyone for being a certain religion

  • Jordan

"I don't believe people who say they don't believe in a higher forse because thats what makes life pointless and miserable even if they deny it I don't believe them."

That makes no sense...I don't find it pointless to not believe in a higher force. Nor can I fathom why it would be pointless.

As long as I believe in something, I'm fine.

I believe in my own will. As a human being, I consider myself to be intelligent enough to get the job done...I see no need for a "higher force" to control me.

  • Mello193

No...religious freedom....love friendship or happiness shouldn't be influenced by religion.

  • the song writer

  • Keath

"I don't believe people who say they don't believe in a higher force because that's what makes life pointless and miserable even if they deny it I don't believe them."

But life is already completely pointless and miserable! So why believe in a higher force and afterlife and such; it can't be much better there ...
No, seriously, life is what you make it, so you can either decide to think life sucks and become a miserable person or try to make the best of it. And you don't need a religion for it. Nor a higher force to make such a decision for you. *agrees with Jordan*
But of course, everyone is free to believe what he/she wants. So if you think I'm a liar, feel free to do so.

  • Bloomed Rose

Nope! I have many friends that are not Christian, and who am I to bash what they believe? That doesn't mean I agree with it, but they can believe whatever they want to believe, or what they were raised to believe.
