Briliant Poems = Briliant Minds! Why so many sad Poems from so many young poets?

Well, I really dont write many sad poems...out of my 17 I only have 2. But I figure that there are many people on this website that have been through so much, and poetry helps to get their feelings and emotions out of their head. Makes sense to me. I mean, not every poem can be about love, bc not all know love. Maybe all a person knows is pain, and poetry is their escape??

Hmm... mainly all my poems are sad as thats how i cope with the pain i feel. thats how i talk about things that have happened. guess thats why. ?

Just a question to u. Getting lost / taken away in poems i understand completely. as an experiment what will happen if you write a feel good poem? won't you feel better for awhile. even if it is imaganary?

Greetings to all of you, I'm new to this site, I've recently wanted to show my poetry to an online community, and I thought it best to come here.
I've acquired a technique through my years of writing, and it's become a technique that's just evolved with my writing. I write about matters in a dark way, I write sad poems and poems about issues that trouble us and society better than I write about anything else. Sadness is a part of life, I just find it difficult to voice happier things, I suppose the happier things in life are more obvious though!
Hope you enjoy my poetry :)

As with knowledge doth come sorrow. As the youth become deeper, more educated and attain more freedom they are beocming more depressed. As long as we look after them properly and do not judge them then we can help.

That's the same reason I write sad poetry...idk

It's just a gift...I've been told that some of my poems make people cry just a little bit...lol

I have a talent for writing dark, sad, depressing poetry

I'm not too good at writing the happy stuff

    lol

I'm the same. I'm not normally sad when I write sad poetry. I'm just better at it than writing happy stuff, even though I have more things in my life that make me happy.

When i write about what happened
it takes it from my mind, to the paper

when i write it eases the pain

Well, think about it. If you are happy, what do you do? Smile and laugh. You talk a lot more. You seem excited and vibrant with new found energy. You hang out with your friends, do funny things. Life is great.

Now think what happens when the opposite occurs. Your sad. You might cry, or lock your self in your room, do drugs or drink, sleep a lot, whatever is your form of relief.

Have you ever tried to play the quiet game? Its where you and a group of people try to stay quiet the longest. The last person to make a sound wins. Well, humans, by nature, rely on communication, so more often than not, someone will start laughing. Because its ridiculous not to communicate. So when you are sad, communication helps to ease those feelings. You feel comforted. Writting it down, seeing all the words, all the pain, everything you feel, on the paper is relieving.
In a world where so much is dark, its easy to get caught up in it. Let it out, and you can see the light a little better.

Sadness and dispaire are just emotions to be drawn from, a true poet or writer or singer knows that all emotion is inportant to impart the right feel on work lol. thats why

Well.....as a young adult i have been through so much heartache and pain and have no one to talk to so i let it out in my poems. its my way of letting go of the pain and letting the pain be my past.

I write sad poems, because it expresses me, and i have no one to talk to about my feelings...and if i did talk to someone (the people i know) they say i need to get some help and i dont because i can release my sadness through poems.

I write sad poems because I had a problem communicating with people unless I write it down but I don't want to bother people with my sob stories so I turn them into something creative.

Beacause even if your brilliant or strong or close to the very best there is going to be one aspect in your life that will induce pain and sometimes you gotta write it out the world is fucking sad

I think its because alot of people on the site have been hurt, so its a good way to vent and express feelings. Alot of my poems are sad and i know its because thats the only chance i get to let out how i feel. Thats my opinion anyway, im not sure if thats it.
