What is the world coming to?

I mean how can the nursery ryhme 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' be considered racist?

    I'll explain.

My daughters pre-school has said that the children can no longer sing the nursery rhyme 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' as it may offend people of Black origin.

Are we supposed to change the words to something like 'Baa Baa Multicultural Sheep'?

Next thing you know they will be wanting to ban 'Mary Had A Little Lamb' beacuse it's sexist.

Does anybody find this song offensive or racist? If so why?

I just can't get my head around it.

Let me first off say that I have no intention of offending anyone of any race or anything.

Anyway, there are that select few blacks that, looking back at their oppresed past, use that as a means for special treatment. Anytime someone does something mean to a black, they yell, "Discrimination!"

Now, same thing with whites, just not as noticeable. Some whites can't get it through their thick skull that there is no superior race, so, in some cases, "Discrimination!" is justified.

Frankly, I don't understand what the big deal about "black sheep" is. Haven't you ever heard of, "That black sheep of the family?" That's the one that's usually most eccentric/is least like the other members of the family. It's not racist.

I am sorry if I have offended anyone.

I thought the whole black sheep thing had to do with the fact that black sheep are rare...

That song has been around for years and years. I use to sing that song in kindagarten, i am now 17 years of age! From the time i was in kindagarten to the time i am in my senior year no one had complained nor felt the song was discrinated in anyways. So 12 years later someone is starting to obviously having a problem. I don't understand we are not alloud to say the word black because it is apparently racsist....It's a song that MANY MANY children grew up too, it's a nursery rhyme that will NEVER be obolished. people have a right to fight against thous who they feel are rascist, but um, a bunch of children sining ba ba black sheep i don't find to be discrimination at all. So why is it us children were alloud to sing it in school, but now our children will have to hide it because it is apparently a bad song because it has the world black.
You know they should band the moving snow white......because well it has the world white in it. This is ridiculues i am sorry some people really need to get with the program and realize that the things you think are worth taking away arn't
