i dont believe in god but i believe there could be one....i believe that if you believe in something itll exist....

I dont really have a religion-I believe in god but I disagree with the Bible. I just think it is outdated-like the whole thing with Being gay is against the Bible...we know now that being gay is something we are born with. back then they didn't know that and it made sense for it not to be wrong-but in this day and age...it is such a common thing that it shouldn't be some big blown up bible thing. one argument to that "if god didn't want us gay then we wouldn't be born gay". And the not having sex before you are married-that may be the moral thing to do but that wont happen in many cases-and I dont believe that to be a sin. It hurts you...but I don't see why god would look down on you (figure of speech...lol) just for making a choice. Well that's my view anyway...lol

I agree with Sierra Rae. Especially when you pay close attention to the teachings of the bible, it contradicts itself a lot. Man was made in God's image and God created homosexuals... so that means part of God must be a homosexual but the bible says homosexuality is wrong. There are a couple good morals in the bible "do unto others as they would do unto you" but you gotta keep in mind that the bible was written by man. And man makes mistakes. So i wouldnt base my whole life and theories on it. But thats just me...

    Well:
    1) In that case, God is also a theif, murderer, prostitute, and the list goes on. People have chosen to go their way in life. Man chooses to be homosexual. If you don't think so, that's a different topic.
    2) The Bible was inspired by God through men. Meaning God had men write it, but only put down what God wanted in it.

I believe in God. I also believe that the contradictions people get from the Bible are man-made. The Bible is left up to our interpretation, so we will never be able to fully understand it until we die and see what happens...

    Lipton,

Christened is when your parents take you to church when you're still a baby and the preist pours holy water on your head saying, stuff like, "protect this child from evil, he/she shall reject the devil" (or something like that) and you have people who stand around you (who become your godfather and godmothers)...well that's how my catholic church does it anyway...i dunno about other religions/cultures do it.

I love being a christian. My felt a strong tug on my heart when i walked away from the catholic church and was that way for two years. I started to go to a nondenominational christian church and that tugging is gone. I love have God in my life. He is AWESOME! I feel sorry for those of you who wont even give him a chance. He is the reason we are all here and some people dont want to get to know him.

As for the controversy about writing the bible; those people who wrote the chapters in the bible were given help. They didnt guess what to write or make it up. God was with them leading the pen.

God is the greatest thing that could have happened to my life and i wish those of you who didnt believe in him would either pick up the bible and read a little out of it and if you get questions, find someone to answer them; or stop by a church and stay for their service and see what you think about it.

  • Lipton

Wow, was that in one breath?

Well, you sort of have the right view. Most people don't like even admitting there is a judgmental side to God. It seems all you can focus on is that.

God is both judgmental, and loving. Most people want to focus on one, or the other; mainly, the loving side.

As for your question, why what? Why did God allow those things to happen in your life? Why does God exist? Why can't people just accept others' beliefs? Oh, wait, that last one is my own question. =)

I believe that there is something after life, I'm just not sure what that something is yet !

Also I don't think that it is possible to categorise all my beliefs into one religion i.e. Christianity.

I think that my beliefs and religion are unique to me alone and so I guess I have my own religion !

Faith 100%. I am unshakable in my faith. Recently bolstered even more by the relatively new thesis of zero point energy. The thought of a minimalist energy source linking people to cities to trees to the atmosphere to planets to space to EVERYTHING is just like saying God is everywhere and in everything.

Practice: 10%. Raised an athiest, went to a practicing CofE (Church of England) school, but never really believed. I found my faith in the army at the age of 22. Lying in a wet field, it was raining, so cold I was shaking with near numb fingers and in a shit load of trouble. I made a promise there, made it through and I've never looked back, not once. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't say thank you in one way or another.

I don't think that anyone religion has hit the nail on the head and got it right, but behind the major religions of the world is the principle of a clean living whilst fighting for your beliefs. Having said that, wars are NOT holy... ever. WE make the argument, WE take to the field and WE swing swords and fire rifles, not God.

So, I live my faith, doing what I do to the best of my ability and knowing we are watched as we do it. Even God peeks at us in the bath and bedroom sometimes, that's why he made us (so he could have a bloody good laugh from time to time).

My respect for people of the cloth, Priests, Imams, Rabbis and so on is limitless. If I could have devoted myself at a young age to a religion I would probably be one now myself. It is the ultimate test in life, devotion to God above all else.

I walk a different path, however.

I am not Christian...I would never walk into a church again. As for the beliefs in God, i'm curious....it's an off and on again occurence for myself. I knowledge myself on religions and i seem to agree a bit with every one from Satanists to Jehovah's Witness to Paganism to you get my point I'm sure...As of now, I'd like to think their is a God that helps me through everything and help everyone and answers my prayers (oddly nearly all prayers i hold for others come true) However, maybe it is wrong of myself but i wouldn't touch a Bible for anything in the world....All I know is what we all believe in will be proved on Judgement Day so i don't disrespect anothers beliefs. For all those in questioning of God and religion, how about studying them and finding your place in life and as for all those Christians, i have to ask out of curiosity do you believe this way because you truly feel it or is it the way you've been raised and not taught outside religions? think about who you are and what you want, live for you and let decisions be made from the heart, Much love, Heather.

i believe in God. but im Muslim. and i think that almost every single christian in the world is screwed up. im sorry i really mean no offense by that. im not saying the religion is screwed up (not that i dont think that im just not saying it) im saying people dont read the part in the Bible that talks about the way ur supposed to live as a christian. theres christians who drink and smoke and wear these little short skirts and have pre-marital sex and think they're christian bcuz they listen to wut their parents tell them about Jesus.

i dont really belive in god he has only hurt and destoryed every thing in my life i was "baptised" for no appernt reason i have lost all hope in this so called god, it does not make any sence to me he is a fake i do not belive in heaven or hell they were made up to pretty much keep people out of trouble if you think about it. and if there really is a so called god ive only got one question Why?.

well. this is what i believe. life is a test. this whole thing is a test. to see where we go. heaven or hell. all up to God of course. why do we need to go to heaven or hell? well, we have to go somewhere... but y are we even here? meaning, ya its a test but y? u know, y even be created? honestly, i dont know. i cant answer that. if any1 has a theory i'd relaly like to hear it. if i hear one from somebody i'll post it.
