    "Compare"
    By: Briana Coulter

    The rain cannot compare
    to the tears I've cried.
It's doing nothing, helping no one
we're done repeating everything we've tried.

    This love cannot compare
    to anything I've felt before.
    Everything I've wanted
    but my heart you tore.

    The stars cannot compare
to the sparkle in your eyes.
    I know this can't be
    because I've cut all ties.

    The broken glass cannot compare
to this broken heart of mine.
    Between love and hate
    there's a thin line.

The words in this poem cannot compare
to the lies that you told.
    I'll always miss the days
when it was me you would hold.

    This feeling cannot compare
to the feeling I felt with you.
    What does it matter
    there's nothing left to do.

    Being broken hearted
    has taught me many things.
    You don't need someones help
to learn to use your wings.

**I wrote this when I finally got over my first love, quite a while ago. The guy who actually saved my life. He broke my heart in the end, and I didn't think I could live without him. But here I am, happier then I ever have been. I wouldn't be who or where I am today if he hadn't hurt me. :]]**

    "Moving On"
    by boywitnodreams

    There was a time
    Where I did everyday
    Was blame myself
    For what happened to you

But the more I stand back
And look at not my life
    But everyone else's life
    I realize something

    I can't keep blaming myself
    I can't keep feeling sorry
    I can't keep looking back
    I can't keep holding on

    So basically, what I'm saying
Is I have to realize that
    There's nothing I can change
    About what happened

    What I'm saying
Is that I have to move on
And even though I'm moving on
I will always and forever love you.

**This was written after I stopped sulking and blaming myself after an ex-girlfriend(was current at the time) was killed by a drunk driver. I finally realized I had to move on and that crying over the past won't change it. I even got the courage to start dating again and i'm happily taken and enjoying life.

Well I think it's only fair if there's one poem per person. So everyone gets an even chance.

    Title: Naked in the Winterlight
    Author: Mark
    Genre: life/sad

Shining bright in the winter light
    listening to the tones
reaching for the deep blue wave
    thats whistling in my bones

    can't deny my feelings gone
    now blowing in the wave
    all the voices deep within
    is making me their slave

    fearless I became that night
    I understood the pain
the trouble I have feared so long
it's time to break the chain

    freedom is my goal tonight
my soul will find the way
    a way into my paradise
    and forever there to stay

the wind is cold but I resist
cause this is who we are
    naked in the winter light
    reaching for a star

    When everythng changes

    Hey, look
In front of you there is a book
It's opened on a new blank page
As everything in life is gonna change.

    You hold
A book that gets written as you grow old
And every page, and line, and every word
Is up to you, is up to any choice you got.

    The wind
Blows tenderly the pages, and you read
The words to never fade with time
The words to describe your lifeline

    And now
You wonder, what is next, and how
To make a choice you won't regret
And not to lose what you already had.

    Just turn
The page, it's time you learn
It's not a tragedy when everything changes,
It's just your hand writing on new blank pages

    Eroded Edge

    by Beyond Repair

Walking on the eroded edge of life again
To my right is left and my left is right
    And I don't know what's best
I need to walk away and watch my step
But I cant do that yet,

And I don't know why, no I don't know why,
I cant walk away, but I know I should try
So I bow my head and look strait down
But I'm not afraid to hit the ground

I'm afraid I'm not afraid, I know it makes no sense
But my life's a mess, and if I took one step
Well it'd be my best, And I know its wrong
But non of you would know that I'm gone

Walking on the eroded edge of life again
To my right is left and my left is right
    And I don't know what's best
I need to walk away and watch my step
But I cant do that yet,

The stone crumbles beneath my feet
An over all feeling screams that I am beat
But I cant look back yet, And I don't know why
I should turn and run, before I fall and die,
But I can't just yet, no I can't just yet, and I only wish
I had an answer for you and one for myself to
But the only thing I can conjure up
Is feeling like I'm not enough

I take a look around, and I'm not alone
There's so many people at the edge, some call it there home
And it feels good to know That I'm not the only one

Walking on the eroded edge of life again
To my right is left and my left is right
    And I don't know what's best
I need to walk away and watch my step
But I cant do that yet,

When your at the edge you got a great view
But when you start to fall that's the first thing you lose
Cause you'll be 6 feet under, one with the earth
So I'll enjoy the scenery and enjoy the people near to me
The one step I cant make cause the bottom don't look that great
But I'm still not afraid, Its just how I'm made
But to lose my life as a whole, doesn't seem like an option anymore

    Fly by Gemma White

Fly, fly. Now is the time
Fly to where the stars all shine
    Fly upon the gently breeze
Soar above the lakes and trees

Fly, fly. On winds of love
    Fly beside the graceful dove
    Fly away to the unknown
    Always remember, your not alone

    Fly, fly. Towards the sun
    Fly, your journey has begun
    Fly untroubled from the pain
No need to feel sadness again

    Fly, fly. Spread your wings
Fly to where the angels sing
Fly away at your own pace
Your on course to a better place

    Fly, fly. Your finally free
Fly across the land and sea
    Fly, fly. Towards the light
Go now, the time is right

    New Beginnings

    Let this new age begin,
I'll still use you as expression,
    I've lifted my head high,
    Ridded the depression.

    The pain stll haunts me,
    The truth is still real,
I attempt to let it go,
As I try to once more feel.

    Let this new age begin,
    Let me find the sun,
When the pain has been lessened,
    I know I've already won.

    This world might be cruel,
Hearts may be full of sin,
    Allow me to be happy,
    Let this new age begin.

    A razor and a notebook,
    A never-lasting smile,
    People still send whispers,
    And looks much too vile.

    The sadness still occupies,
I though I might never win,
But let me into your happy place,
And let this new age begin.

Not Black nor White, Just Grey
    By Jess
Note: read the punctuation not the lines.

The night is just a blanket, there
to keep people cold on the inside.
    Stars just give distant hope,
and dawn holds promise for new beginnings.

    Even stars die.

You get your new beginning and it's blinding,
    but you can't look back
    because everything there is gone,
With the blanket that holds the most optimistic persons tears.
    Like moons.

Here, you will find the calm of despair and loneliness.
Don't tell me where I do and don't belong.

    Twilight

Not even a wolf's cry can be heard in the east,
Nor a single car passing by on the deserted road.
Nothing moves in the tranquil twilight, not one thing,
Such a dark and lonesome night to live upon.

She has a feeling she is being followed and watched,
She isn't there alone, someone is coming after her.
Her eyes frantically search the area, terrified but open,
Scarred for what she might see, but anxious to know.

Fear is in the air, she can feel it consume her body,
Someone is lurking near by, watching and waiting.
Her legs feel frozen on the ground, too numb to move,
As she sees a black shadow edging its way toward her.

She would rather die now, then take what's to come,
Knowing that help won't arrive, she must face this alone.
Then she sees him, his penetrating red eyes thirst,
As he playfully smiles, a sickening feeling comes to her.

She closes her frightened eyes, not wanting to look,
Without any warning, he grabs her hard by the wrist.
Her eyes open and she pushes him, tired but willing,
And he backs up, revenge and hatred in his heart.

Suddenly he launches forward, striking her arm,
Weakness and pain overshadows her completely.
She hears faint laughter, a cruel kind of laugh,
As she slowly slips into unconsciousness.

Based on the book "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer.

    Skeletons in the Closet

Cracks in the floors of the ground we walk,
Holes in the webs of the lies we talk,
Skeletons in closets which keys we've lost,
There's only so long you can avoid a cost.

Cracks on the ground flake and chip,
Turn into holes on which we trip,
No one to catch us from the long fall,
No allies or skeletons to heed the call.

The webs we weaved with words we spoke,
Are flimsy and weak, and so easily broke
Not there to hold us in times of need,
Because the words we spoke were not backed by deed.

All of our past shut so tightly away,
With the hope that it will silently decay,
But the scent of the past is easy to smell
It made the ground weak and the lies hard to tell.

So as the ground shatters, our webs won't sustain,
And we fall right through; hands snatching in vain.
Skeletons fall out of the wide open doors,
Weighing us down as we fall to the floor.

-Staring at The Slate of Asphalt-

    I set my eyes upon
    A scale of gray stone
Where my mind begins to sift and wander
    My ambition only known!

    The cars make their passerby
The speed producing a dash of wind
That billowed, in the air deprived
A soothing breeze had reached the skin

    In the nearest glimpse
    The helixes of devil's wisps
    They disregarded life's appeal
And faded at the source of nature's seal

    My mind wandering astray
Yet now coming back within reappraise
The eyes swooned from restless daze
Staring at the slate of asphalt, that day...

    Something called LOVE:

All I need is to hear your voice
and my heart beats for joy.
My life means nothing without you
if your love is not employed.

I sit in my room and look out the window
    and view the open sky.
I see floating images of you
baby, the clouds tell no lie.

My stomach gets weak thinking about you
    wishing you was here.
The only tears I cry, are tears of joy
    but pain is always here.

Only sixteen, got two more years until I leave
baby I'm not going without you.
    Riding the train of love
because your love is a cure to me.

In my heart you'll always stay
    years from now.
But I believe were going to be together
until they dig us in the ground....

~This is for my baby Demetree hardly been going out for 2 months, but I believe he's the one.
He's already buying me a ring!!!!!
    Wish me for the BEST!!!!
