Love is _____? {Please Post Your Opinions}

I just wanted to get some insider opinions on what other people think love is. Better yet, do you even believe in love? I know some people that don't. I'll post my thoughts later. I want to read up on other's first.

Love is a gift
A gift we all wish to receive

You can't buy it, you can't sell it, you can't earn it, or win it. In its most wonderful form you would surely give up your life as a sacrifice to the one you love so that they may live.
Love has so many different levels and so many different kinds, love for plants, nature, people, animals, etc. I believe that love is a feeling you hold a value of sorts placed, in actions it is shown, as to just say you love is not really enough. How do you love? The actions of love are as close to selflessness as possible, an endearing, caring, generous way of showing how much value you place. Love is not always Nice though, when you love someone, you may hurt them as a consiquence of your love for them.
Its not sweet and romantic but I believe them to be truths.

UNEXPLAINITORY

I'm happy for the outcome, although small, of this Post. I was in keyboarding when I first started this topic and now I have time to actually post my thoughts and such on the topic of 'love'.

Anyways, I think that love works in mysterious ways. The saying that 'opposites attract' is completely and totally true. Though not always. Love is a beautiful, wonderful, and rare feeling/emotion that is more powerful than anything else in the world. It can't be baught, won, and those other things that were already said. Love just happens. You don't really 'choose' who you love; your heart does. Even you may not understand why you love who you do. Anyways, in the greatest experiences love will fill you with happiness and undying joy. In most cases, you'd give your life for the person whom you love. You miss them even if they're gone for a few seconds, and love them no matter what they say or do. It's not something you can just forget or get over. Love is not always happy though. Sometimes you love somebody that doesn't love you back, or vice versa. Also things just may not 'work out', and when things like that happen you feel an emptiness that is impossible to compare to any other.

There are two things that I /do not/ believe in though. I think that love at first sight is absoloutely impossible. And I think that there are no such things as soul mates.

Anyways, I know that we all have different opinions but those are just mine.

i dont know how people dont belive in love.....i mean when your in love you change forever you dont change when your obssed or have lust for someone....you may get a little scary but when your in love your truly happy....and the person you love happiness means more to you then anything.....i think love brings out the good in you....makes you wanna be a better person at least i know ive changed for the person i love....

I don't believe in love. I've posted my views on the subject many times on this site so I don't think i need to say them again.

I think I have to write something more- 1 I believe in God, but I am just not sure its wrapped up in our limited human understanding of God. 2 Speaking of fairy tales -giggles lightly-, I do believe in love at first site, and I do believe in a sort of soul mate. HOWEVER, Love is not just meant for ONE PERSON. If the one you love Dies does this mean you are not allowed love again? Of course you are, it may be different, but it can still be love. Love is Seemingly Simplistic but so are the ripples of water when you throw a stone in a calm lake. There are many possible combinations of personal compatible traits that actually make love easier to find than an attorney with integrity. -giggles lightly again- *smiles*

for me love is...
still hearing his voice in my mind after we've hung up, seeing his face when I go to sleep. Fireworks and stars when he kisses me. the way he smells like spices, fresh cut grass, the ocean, spring rain and fresh wash. the way his hand fits just right around mine, and the secret smile he gives me from across the room when he knows I'm watching him. the small notes he leaves on my books or funny messages on my cell. the way he laughs when I come running to him, and the way he holds me when I need to cry away whatever argument I've had with my parents. But most of all for me love is sitting on the couch holding his hand and not having to worry if he thinks I'm sexy smart funny cool dark secretive and open book-whatever. It's knowing he's there with me, FOR me and no one else.

True love--love that is given unconditionally to family, friends, and those to whom you are romantically attractes--is the choice (yes, choice) to put that person's happiness and well-being above that of your own.

that is why you hear of so many people staying in unhappy, unsatisfying, and even abusive marriages and relationships... because they TRULY love that person... unconditionally....

Love is unexplainable. I honestly think there's no true definition of love...but when you feel it, you know it's there. You can't really put love into words-it's far too sacred for that. Love can hurt, yes...but love can also be the best thing that ever happens to you...

Love is where Theres someone in your life that means more than anything including yourself and you'd do anything to make them happy reguardless of your own feelings or how it affects you dosent matter just making them happy

Love is when you just want that special someone in your life to be happy even if it's not with you. Love...can't be explained. You love someone not for the parts of them. Not their skin, hair, or even their eyes..none of that matters. You don't love em' cuz their beautiful or sexy, that's lust. You don't love someone cuz they stand up for their opinion, that's admiration. You don't love someone when you feel like you'd give your life for that person, that's heroism. Love is when it can't be explain why you love this person. There is no real appearent reason to be seen. You love that person because you just do, their need not be a reason for it.

Love is Sacrifice.

Everyone knows that.

Simple Answer...Love is different for all. What it possesses inside of you, only you will know, only you will hold. To me true love is respect for one another....it's simple as that. God Bless

love is when a person, no matter what you look like, smell like, act like, loves you and does not ask you to change anything by accepting you for who you are. i had a boyfriend of 5 yrs, 3 mos, and 14 days and we broke up yesterday, i loved him so much and did not ask anything to be changed, but HE always wanted to change me and tells me what to do, i think he did not love me for what and who i am. love sucks but at least i felt how it is to love even if he did not really love me for exactly who i am. maybe one day when i get pissed off with love, i will deteriorate and will no longer believe in love.
