Voting 1s for no reason..

There are so many posts about this.

The only persons who can trace votes identities is Janis, who created the site, and Dainz, who is the second in commend here.

Like i say to everyone else who complains of low voting, it's the comments that count more than mere numbers don't you think?..try not to worry about it too much.

Not that I've been a victim (that I know of) but thanx!

The exact same thing happened to me before... so I understand what you're going through...

and after having that experience, I agree with Kevin Murray. The comments matter, not the votes.

Hollycrap....i'm not sure it's fitting to remove one vote of one. I mean as far as i understand things, it's only if one person votes several times lowly on the same poem, or just visits all your poems in quick succesion and votes one on them all that we remove the false ones.

It is possible that someone really didn't like your poem and thought it was only worth a one. It happens to us all.

The thing of it is Harriet, is that none of us are qualified to attribute with perfect accuracy a number from 1 to 5 which in any way can truely sum up anyones poem.

And so the ratings system which you so rightly state effects how many comments some people get, is fundamentally flawed, and needs to be replaced or abolished.

Also, being able to clear up false votes is fine...but bad votes stay, because lets face it, some poems are bad and deserve a 1.

    Just my twa pennies.

Same thing is happening to me ... I think it's because when a poem makes the top 5, it kicks another one out ... a poet gets jealous, and votes other poems low so that theirs will be put back up. Then again ... Someone pretty much hates all of my poems, every singly one I've submitted in the past month or so [maybe more] has been voted a 1. I don't know what goes through peoples minds. If they really don't like the poem, and it's deservant of a 1, then they should explain why. It's only fair.

Umm whats the deal - if this issue going to continue I have one solution prevent voting of any kind and leave comments only.

Personally I don't care what my poems are "rated" I care none for numbers, I care more for the time of those poets who care enough to provide me with feedback and criticism to help me improve myself as a poet. I have voted people 1's on several occassions simply because the poem was shocking, sometimes I can't actually think of a nice or constructive way of saying "Your poem really stank why did you bother posting it" so I will vote rather than hurt someone with the truth. I expect to get 1's on my own poetry because everyone will or should interpret it differently some will love it and some will hate it - I deal with it because its a fact of life and growing as a writer

Another thing I am sick of is this topic of conversation no way everyone is going to be happy with the system of voting the same way no way everyone is going to rate your poem a 5

Sheesh did you people forget why you started to write initially?

Eirisa is right!!! Numbers are just numbers and it's the comment that counts. What can you do if the person who read your poem rated it a low score, he/she is entitled to that perception. =p

Would anyone be so upset at losing their rating if the system is taken away that they'd leave the site?

It's something we have to consider.
