The kiwi's lost there first soldier to the Iraq war, even though he was in the Australian army, when is this madness going to stop, when Bush gets the arse will the new lot stop it or will it be driven by the war mongers..

Lol... You just couldn't stay away... Now could you Nicko... Nice to see you back...lol

So you decide enough is enough because one of your countrymen is killed in action... Aww!

What about the Iraqis who have been killed abused and tortured? I feel there is a double standard ere... lol

    Hi Noir

Good to see you still around, I think. I had a few things happening in my life which precluded this site, work, personal but most of that is behind me!

No double standards ere! I'm not insinuating a kiwi life is more important than any other, over 4000 Americans have been killed and yes god knows how many Iraqis, too what end?

Wars fuel economies, granted, but is that the driving force

And yes Afghanistan! yes the fight against terrorism is infinite and futile

You think its good to see me...Lol.

I think Iraq is the third american blunder to come, when looking at the last 10 years, humanitarian efforts used as a veil to secretly exploit these countries...

But discussing a cliched topic hardly makes the war end... I actually feel sorry for the next president, assuming that Obama gets the presidency... he'll have one hell of a chore in his hands

When actually looking at the history of the war you'll see that the word "terrorism" has been generalised to the point that America don't know who they're fighting against...

  • Nicko

They say time helps heal wounds, in your case that's an arse....lol but hey most of the topics on here I find to be rubbish, at least you're willing to engage in others that are less so but yes cliched as you say

Yes Obama has to appease the power brokers no doubting that, he's already committed more to Afghanistan....blah....

i think they're fighting for the freedom of money!!

  • Noir

Lol... Time does heal all wounds, only it cannot smooth over the dry cracks of laughter that develop on the proverbial virtual cheek... You need aloe vera for that... Lol

Speaking of cheeks of two... I wonder what Bush'll do... after he steps down... Maybe write some poetry, and discovers this PnQ

But the war sadly will never stop until Palestine and Israel come to terms with their own intolerance

So humans are killing machines hell bent on destroying themselves... How pessimistic?

Since we're killing machines lets kill Oprah and the orphans, lets hug the beggars then stab them repeatedly while we hug, it'll do the world some good... Lol..

Do you listen to yourself while reading what you've typed... because really you need more than what valium can ever give... lol

  • Noir

Lol... Oh my, so we're weak because we use our minds... Actually quite the opposite... But hey why not ask those serial killers and sociopaths whether they're dumb or intelligent, my bet is on the latter... lol.

Humanity is flawed yet we shouldn't paint everyone under the same black nail paint brush... There are good and bad examples of humanity...

So stop being glum and comb that hair and smile that we all are here to better ourselves and part of our society...

    Goodie! Lol

Argh a topic to war over, that's what I like to see!!!

man is doomed yes that's plausible either by his own hand or by nature a comet or whatever, and as much as I would like to think otherwise. As to being replaced by another humanoid no they had there chance I think. No our next evolutionary step is the machine yes they will evolve from us

we are no more than a blimp on infinity

It is intriguing that through war we are where we are today! most of mans advancements are due to his propensity with war

^I think Iraq is the third american blunder to come, when looking at the last 10 years, humanitarian efforts used as a veil to secretly exploit these countries... ^

And to who's benefit is this exploitation? Maybe Bush is driving around the US on free gas thinking of ways to make a mess out of something else while we are paying 4-5$ a gallon.

^ because really you need more than what valium can ever give... lol^

Do you even know what valium is?

^They do what they do because they get enlightened by it.^

There are many reasons why people commit sick crimes.......

^we are hell bent. each die we commit sins on levels that sicken most .. were killers. and rapist. a mojority are any way. we tlak crap and dont back it up.... man kind is a doomed race,,, we fight war after war after war and then we have fools like you and me who sit and talk about act like we no thing when in fact we are just the weak one who fight with there minds.^

Speak for yourself and PLEASE get a spell checker or a dictionary!!

^I don't think you will find too many non Americans who have any sympathy for you on this subject.^

No one was asking for sympathy. I guess my point just flew over the cuckoo's nest. I think you all need something and it's not Valium!

  • Noir

Rachel: Really why ask such an inane question, ofcourse I know what valium is, which is why I placed it in my post... So, I wouldn't want you to cut and paste the dictionary to prove what valium is in your post like you've done in many of your posts... Lol

So again, rachel say something without the help of the mighty dictionary and its wife thesaurus... K!

Lol.. Rikki, I do agree with you, from a generalised theological perspective, however all you see are the negatives that reside in humanity...

How much have we really progressed or are we the same as we always were, I wonder?? We were never puny though!!

If you were stuck in the middle of the wop wops how would you go?? Would you survive for a start?? Would you be able to smelt metal, know what ore's to smelt to make metal what additives to use or where to find them. Know what all those little things inside your computer are and what they do how to make them make electricity even if you had a river and a dam, or would it be back to cave man days of stone tools and spears

Are we truly enlightened? the collective is more so than the individual granted, it also makes it easier to understand why some humans are less than animals!

    Ramblings of a madman!!!

"no one is pure or else you would be jesus and rachel your not."

What the h*ll the sentence above means? Could anyone explain to me what logic it has?

    First you say this:

"there is nothing smart about any of the conversations i have been in. none of us are truly using our minds in these bords. we state how we feel on subjects and that is it. there is no wisdom in feeling, becuse every ones feeling are diffrent. we sit and talk but dont listen kid there is nothing wise about that and so i will say it again. we are the weak ones. becuse we dont hear , we dont learn, we get mad and attck eachother and i am honest enough to admit that i to do it. i just refran from using foul words and stright forword insults......"

And then this: "i belive in the war in iraq and i do know what were doing there is right......"

How can one claim "I do know what were doing there is right"? So you THINK you know? You denied the fact you could be mistaken... So you know everything....hmmm...so you think you are like God? That is soooo....interesting... LOL.

^no one is pure or else you would be jesus and rachel your not^

Okay that makes no sense. I never said I was pure or perfect. You talk a bunch of jibberish and spell it as such.

And no, your spelling and grammar are still an eye sore! You know they do have free online dictionaries! Here is a link:

Yes William usually people do share their different views on subjects in the thread hence why it is called a DISCUSSION FORUM.

Aggression is part of our makeup, embedded in our genetics, why we have progressed as a species.

It's a two edged sword on one side greed, religion, pride, on the other progression, diversity, advancement, without war this planet would be overflowing with humanity! that sounds mercenary but its fact, we all know that

Is war justified! Some say sometimes, some would say never, me personally yes some have been justified.

Is the war on Iraq? I think not, there are so many unseen ploys here so many scenarios being played out. Who really knows the truth? But when your son's daughters and love ones die we need justification to make it worthy, to give reason to their life and death, we like to stand on the side of righteousness.

I see this war as futile because we are fighting terror an emotion or state of mind that breeds as fast as any other we can never win, so do we give in or fight the good fight, well that is the question "To be or not to be"

William I find your writing style creative and value your opinion

Well, I'm all against the war and I believe that it would be a joke to think that we are fighting terrorism in Iraq because if we are fighting terrorism, we'd have more troops in Afghanistan and would have went into Pakistan by now. I don't think Barak will change much, but at least he would be better then the rest of the bunch.

  • Nicko

  • Oceansoul

The war itself is not wrong, it's just the way it's done that's crappy , and that's what dissapoints me in the american army

  • Noir

Its funny how pessimism chokes this thread... but all the more better it'll be to breathe again...

I think people need to understand that our biological need to fight does not come into the equation, One man made the decision to go to war, many agreed... he made a grave mistake, and so did those that agreed...

War is merely a by-product of pride, fanaticism and greed...

  • Noir

Its not truth William, merely subjective thought... Lol.

If a person begs me for money, i would spare some, the idea is that even if it is asked with ill intentions, its good to actually give it, because you'll never know if the story you're given is true.

It may be idealistic, however we live in a world filled with apathy and cynicism, and we need to deviate ourselves from it, if we ever want to change ourselves, those around us, and even the world.
