New guy from London - 24 - Lost in love ;)

Hi guys, brand new here

Was looking for Poetry Forums online and I came across this which looked like an active community hence me joining.

I'm a 24 year old guy from London - by profession I'm a web/graphic designer. I consider myself quiet creative - I actually used to be into poetry when I was like 16..long time ago.

I guess everyone has a different reason for coming to a forum or searching for something like this.

My reason - for the past months I've fallen in love with a girl and after plucking up the courage to try and talk to her and be a bit more friendly then just a "hello", I've found out she is with a guy...and she has been with him for 3 years.

The last time I fell for a girl was almost 4 years ago and that was a similar situation, and it's happened again.

I'm probably old fashioned in a few ways, I like writing letters when I get the opportunity and definetely am a lost romantic type ;)

So that covers me for now

Well, i think, from a sixteen year old girls opinion, i think u shuld be friends with her and see what happens, maybe u know they will break up, and shell need a friend and u culd be there for her, and then maybe get toghether..idk.....

Thanks but I can't be friends with a girl I am in love with - if it was so, I would feel like a ghost or something. Like always knowing ok yea she is being friendly with me but only when she is not with the b/f...know what i mean

Lol, I've been in that situation a couple of times. Both times have gone for me. If you can't have her, it's not worth sticking around. Unless you know for a fact she likes you. I mean she has expressed interest verbally not just signs. We guys seem to understand signs completely wrong. If she has not come out and said it, then run for the hills. Otherwise, you'll finally get her and when you go to tell her your love she'll give you the most hated line in male history "I like you like a brother".

Hi. Im Jessica. And I have been in your situation as well (havn't we all?), theres no other way to put it, it freakin sucks. Love should be way easier to find. And you shouldn't have to go through the pain of loving someone who doesn't love you. Unfortunately tho, I didn't get to invent love. haha. Its difficult, but you will move on. How you handle the situation is up to you. You said you can't, but it is possible to be friends with the one you love. I would know (I'm doing it), it takes a lot of strength, and forget all the crap about wanting the other person to be happy, cuz yea, you do want them to be happy, but with you! I can just tell you that it will get easier. You need to do something to get her off your mind. And you will find someone else again. Eventually, it will be the one that loves you back and it will make everything up to that point worth it. Good luck!

welcome to the party, i read ur lil post and im in and hav been in a very similar situation lol

and im in IT too, but im just starting out in the support side of things =) anyways hope u like this lil lovely lil community we got goin on here
