I have an 18yr old brother and recently he got fired from his job and he had just gotten a car... well since he didnt have any money to put insurance and plates...etc i told him that if i did, if he would let me borrow it.... take me and pick me up from work... he agreed... so far i have given him like 200 dollars for everything and give him gas money since he doesnt have any money because he doesnt have a job... well yesterday.. he didnt pick me up from work because he was with one of his friends... and then this morning... he didnt answer his phone so he could pick me up... i was so mad... |

My best advice is yell at him. screw his age. his immaturey is such an 18 year old level to use your generosity as a toy. and hunny; i would NEVER let that slide. family or not. get in his face. threaten to take your money back. do whatever you can to make him relize he needs to contribute to his part of the bargian. his friends will underastand. |

If you told me your plan before you did it I would have told you that this would happen. When it comes to money and friends and family, you are better off to just give it if you have it and not attach expectations because you will probably be disappointed at some point. All you can really do is tell him he is thoughtless for making an agreement and not sticking to it. Don't help any longer. |
