"It's over, and I'm done, we've had our fun".
You left me broken and alone on the floor.
"Please don't go, my heart is breaking slow".
I cried as you walked away and slammed the door.

I felt so hurt, wearing my tear stained shirt.
You don't know what happened to me.
But you don't care, and it wasn't fair.
Maybe we just weren't meant to be.

I'll be okay, because tomorrow is a new day.
Life is what I have to focus on at this time.
I hope you're doing well, but I can't really tell.
I'll find someone who'll make my eyes shine.

Wait right there, maybe life really is fair.
Because I think I found the one for me.
My heart skips, and my stomach flips.
I'm thankful that I stuck around to see.

A whole new world, this boy has unfurled.
His eyes tell a story I've always wanted to read.
A smile so bright, it could light the night.
I'm going to let this love take the lead.

He's perfect in every way, too many words to say.
I just cannot seem to believe that this is real.
My life is now great, and our love won't deflate.
There is no way to explain how he makes me feel.

Kiss The Girl

Crooked smile,
Sideways glance,
Hearts are pounding,
Take a chance.

Quivered lips,
Nervous eyes,
Sweaty hands,
Shaking thighs.

Leaning in,
Hesitation,
Filling with,
Such trepidation.

Succumb to it,
This wanton need,
Loves first kiss,
Desire's greed.

Hungry mouth,
Racing mind,
Weakened by,
The heat you find.

Consume the moment,
Drift and sway,
Kiss this girl,
And melt away.

Colors of the Wind

Your soul was given to me
with a cellophane
and an instruction manual.

Sweet petals of oxygen
died within glassy lungs.

Your soul was colored as the wind-
sepia constellations managed to grow
watered with woe,
dissecting warmth
of the nights shared...

... and after all these years
that bitter zephyr
still caresses my thoughts.

Once upon a dream, I believed in you,
Hell, I believed in us; I believed in myself,
But like all dreams I've stumbled through,
I never come out smiling, ever.
And this time I can say it is all because of you,
Put the blame on all the sh!t you put us through.

Like a tightrope fastening around your throat,
You're suffocating as you reach for your coat,
Passing me a sympathetic smile through gritted teeth,
All the while keeping a watchful eye on me.
I'm ready to snap and you can feel it in my stare,
But you don't say good-bye, you wouldn't dare.
And tomorrow I'll paint myself a braver face,
Lie and tell our old friends you took your space.
[I doubt they know the difference in going and gone, anyways.]
Today, I stared at myself in disbelief,
How in the world could I let you get the best of me?
It was just four years, no big deal right?
I'm sure I can get through this alright.

You would laugh in my face if I said I needed you,
Just so you could say "I told you so!"
And keeping that in mind, doesn't make it any easier,
Sitting here by the phone, etching out your number.
And I just wish for once you would call,
With more than an itching for an argument.
[But the clock is flushing that dream down the toilet.]
The more I sit here thinking of the time I wasted,
The more I want to beat your heart like you did mine,
I should have listened when they told me not to trust you,
I never should have gone all out to impress you.

Reserve: True To Your Heart - Please.

I have searched my entire life
Without knowing what I am searching for
Searching high and searching low
Searching places I have searched before.

Jumping borders and crossing oceans
Searching for the answer to a question unknown
Sleeping in the streets and battling with kings
Traveling this entire world alone.

Searching through the skies and under the seas
Continuing until the end of time
There is no desert to hot or lake to deep
There is no mountain I would not climb.

For years I have quested for the unknown answer
Until my mind was ready to burst
My muscles are soar and my heart is heavy
Still unable to quench this thirst.

Just when I was ready to abandon all hope
And accept my deathly defeat
The answer to my entire journey fell upon me
And the ending was very discrete.

Having kept true to my heart
And suffering through the years
My journey comes close to closure
After suffering through the tears.

The end was not what I had expected
After a world wide quest
But the end truely justifies the means
Of a journey so oppressed.

What I found was the truth of my heart
The key to all my desires
The object that answered all my questions
An object the whole world admires.

The reward of my trek was you
But you were really with me all along
Held inside my heart like a childhood secret
Guiding me to where I belong.

You were the force that pushed me to search
Knowing that I was questing after you
Extending my heart to the edge and back
Certain our love would ensue.

My adventure did not have a beginning
There was not set path to take
It could only have come full circle
Once I discovered I control my own fate.

I could not discover the truth
Without discovering myself along the path
Emotions filled my heart and mind
Melting away the rage and wrath.

You were with me through the tears and blood
That was shed along the way
Waiting until I found myself
Waiting until today.

For now that I know myself
I understand how to love another

To be the ultimate husband and lover.

My life is complete and whole

Watching you as you sleep

Circle of Life

On a tea party of the ghosts
the moon separates trees on two,
while they drink mementos of life's substance
insatiably.

Skeleton of fire bestows duplex whisper
which evolved into a scream after thousand years.

And on the feast of the living, senses,
bonded for each spoken word by vitreous voices,
intumesce, together with delusions.

Resin holds us outside of the graves
yet, indirectly, it is an executor,
because every existence wanders
through the complex structures
until the dawn when it will stop.

Circle of life brings wind and the sun
intersected into bonfire which lays within every heart.
Staring in kaleidoscope built with letters and wet earth
we will observe hemorrhage of each color.

Calm down everyone, this is just a contest. And everyone's poem was good, but I tried my best to choose the one's who I thought had the best quality. Yea, maybe I could have took more time to evaluate each and every poem, and maybe there were some who should have won, I'm sorry though, but everyone has different opinions on others work, you may think differently about the winners, but I've made up my mind...

Miss Take, I did not see your poem that you posted here, in your poems list. Which other one would you like me to comment on? It won't be counted as the three comments/rates you will recieve.

That is up to the person posting the contest, if you don't like the rules, don't enter the contest, accusing someone of fixing it because their taste is not your taste is an unnecessary insult, as was your last comment in your final post. If you can't be mature do us all a favour and don't post. Immature isn't an insult it's an observation.
