Why did no one tell me he died.....

My grandpa died atleast a year ago according to my little sister and no one bothered to tell me....i wrote him a letter and after i sent it she wrote me on myspace she told me that they had just gotten back from my grandpa's memorial because he was a war vet.
i realize that my bio father is across the country and we dont really talk but how can you not tell your daughter that her grandpa passed......

A girls best friend is her grandpa...or for me atleaset....

I am sorry to hear that. I know that my Grandpa is my best friend. If my folks wouldn't tell me my grandpa died I would be so mad. Maybe they didnt want you to hurt. I am not making excuses but why do you think they would keep it from you?

When my grandmothers mother died no one told her, I think she found out a few weeks later. Some people are just insensitive.

I was young when my cousin died and my parents kept her death a secret from me as well, in an effort to 'protect me'. I think it's the stupidest thing.

You hurt even more when you find out that not only did someone you love die, but your parents who you're supposed to trust let you down by lieing to you.

I wasnt supposed to happen. my bio dad was married but out of state for months and hooked up with my mom so now hes hates me and is so embarrased and my little brother and sister have to tell all there friends that im a "distant cousin"
last time i was there his wife kept me in my room all day. needless to say i wasnt popular in their book...but i was in my grandpas...... :-/

Im sorry he dies, that really does suck, but if u were so close.... why was it a year before you contacted him?

We werent and that was my biggest problem. i only got to meet him twice my whole life cuz he hid and denied me for 16 years. then wouldnt give either of us the other ones address. i had to look it up and by time i found it...well yea.

Well i stayed with him for like a week and a half both times and we got close. i look alot like my grandma so im told (she died the year i was born) so he was so interested in me. not to mention i was his only granddaughter from my "father". and i shared the same interest. my mother's father and i are super close and they were alot alike. we may not of known absolutely everything about eachother but we were as close as we could be considering we lived on total opposite sides of the U.S.

Ah thats horrible hun. I'm so sorry for your loss as well I myself have also lost my grandad only this summer.
