Picture Days!

Do you ever or have you ever felt embarrassed by or regretted those pictures from the early years; your school photos from when you were in Gr. 1, 2, 3, etc.? If so or not, why?

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Looking back on my pictures now; Gr. 1, 2, 3, etc., I don't necessarily regret them or are embarrassed by them. Sure I had the bowl cut & the electric razor short hair, the big & thick framed glasses or boys clothes, but I was proud of who I was & didn't care what I looked like to anyone else but myself! Of course I went through that phase; didn't think I was as beautiful as anyone else & was picked on by other kids, but I didn't let that put me down because I knew that beauty wasn't only skin deep, that if I wanted I could change easily if I tried & that I had a whole life time a head of me to grow! Looking back on my pictures I think of how much I have grown up now since then; both physically & maturely! I look back to my youth; my childhood, as INSPIRATION!

Why would I regret or be embarressed of them? I think that no one should be embarressed of their pictures when they were young... because those were the days when we were the REAL us, plus no matter what we were wearing or doing it's all cute.

I think they were deff. cute...but I do get the "What was I doing!" Or "What was I wearing!" Or "What was I thinking!" But who doesn't...but for the most part they're cute...lol

I love looking at old school pictures because they remind me of innocence as a child. Even if I was wearing overalls with Micky Mouse on them, I wore them becaues I loved it and it made me happy. As kids get older and are in their teenage years they dont dress for themselves, they dress for who is gonna see them like that boy/girl that sits behind them in math who they wanna catch their eye or for that snotty popular girl who thinks shes all that.

Looking at old pictures makes me happy because it shows how the little things like a Micky Mouse overalls would make us happy.

    I do feel embarrassed, tbfh.
I looked ......... yea that before.
Well, alot of things in my appearance have changed.

Haha. Idk. But I looked hideous before.
    I was always a self-conscious.
I just gained my confidence when I was 12-13.

"I love looking at old school pictures because they remind me of innocence as a child..."

^ That's a great point! I miss being a child some days; miss the innocence I had, like being a "virgin" to things like discrimination, violence, etc. and the joy & magic I saw in everthing!

    "...they show the REAL us..."

^ That is too true! The things in life we experienced as a child helps to define us; helps to influence who we are in the future! I'm thankful for my childhood everyday for everyday I'm proud of who I am; who I've grown up to be!

I like looking at my old pictures! they make me giggle =)

at first i was a bit timid to even keep them, but then when i relized that everyone looked goofy.... then i didn't care at all! i flaunt my goofy-ness that i had in the early years. and we all should!

being that little is such a careless time, so no wonder you didn't care what you looked like.

Ha ha ha oh goodness, i was such a loser back in the day. i always have to laugh at what i looked like. but the thing is that i was actually happy then. i wasn't "fat" but was a bit chubby, really pale with big blue eyes and long, big dark hair.

in grade 6 i became bulimic which lead 2 me becoming anorexic. i was no longer the happy girl i use 2 be. seeing my old photos just remind me of what really made me happy in life and how being skinny isn't as glamarous as its made out 2 be.
