This was an assignment for school. but hey if you guys want to look at them go ahead. i can't e-mail it to myself from school since gmails blocked =/

1) Dogpile.com
They have their results very well organized from most to least popular sites. Its easy to use and has many results.
2) Blackle.com
It’s a cool one. They’re an “energy saving” search engine. The main color of their site is black, so it takes less energy to power thus saving some energy. It’s just basically a darker version of google.
3) Google.com
Very popular site! This ones one of the most useful ever. They have thousands of results and you find almost anything on their engine. You can look at the map, search pictures, web sites and videos! Its pretty nice. It has a good suggested search option and a spell check.
4) Ask.com
They have a good map. I like the maps on the sites and this one has a nice one. You can search the web, images, news, videos, blogs and much more. They’re engine generally finds the most useful sites you can get for the information you want.
5) Yahoo.com
News, sports, games, popular websites and loads more! Yahoo is full of things to do. As for a search engine it doesn’t disappoint. It finds good results and fast in a neat organized fashion.
6) Metacrawler.com
This one loads very quickly, that’s nice. You can even search for audio, that’s pretty neat. The silver color scheme looks good.
7) msn.com
They have a nice page but their results are a little on the sloppy side. It seems like they should have taken more time to better organize their page. Other than that it looks pretty alright.
8) Hotbot.com
This ones pretty stupid. It doesn’t look that nice and only uses other search engines. They aren’t very original.
9) Aol.com
One I personally wouldn’t use. It looks a lot like yahoo. And functions a lot like it too.
10) Altavista.com
This ones alright. I don’t like the way it looks very much though. You can search worldwide or just USA sites. If your looking to find foreign sites, that’s the search engine to use.
11) alltheweb.com
It looks a lot like altavist.com. It’s alright. You can search for sites in different languages or just English. I don’t like it very much myself but its alright.
12) Excite.com
Excite.com looks like it wants to be yahoo or msn. Its alright if a bit cheap. They give you the news and have an alright search engine but they aren’t my favorite.
13) Lycos.com
Lycos looks nice. I like how they organize their site and the engines alright too. I like that you can search for videos and images too. That’s always nice.
14) Webcrawler.com
It says that they have searches from google, yahoo, msn, and ask. That just shows which search engines are the big ones and have all the power. They do have really good results though so they’re alright.
15) Ujiko.com
This ones very unique! They have good suggestions for searches and alright results for what you search. I like the uniqueness of the site a lot though. It looks pretty cool.
16) Mamma.com
The name is pretty humorous. They have on-topic suggested searches for the next best things that you search so that’s very helpful. I like this one.
17) http://search.netscape.com/search/webhome
This is a lot like AOL. Its enhanced with google. It seems to me that most if not all these sites are powered by or enhanced by google. They aren’t very independent and they all seem to have the same results.
18) Bananaslug.com
I don’t like this one because I don’t like spelling the word “banana” it confuses me. As far as a search engine goes, it’s pretty cool. They have quick results which is always nice and not too bad of ones. It’s alright.
19) Gigablast.com
I went the site and it said it was still in beta testing so that alone makes me not like it anymore. They have pretty good results though.

A great place to have all your questions answered! This ones alright and has some great information. I like it anyway. It looks pretty alright, not very neat an organized but not sloppy either.

I use ask.com..didnt actually read ur list..lol. but i love ask.

i used to use dogpile..til i came across ask. lol.

Good job! so u had to actually check out all those search engines? thats neat!

but i gotta go with google! i get the best results with them and i love using google images!

I use google... nearly the whole world uses that.
Sometimes I use alltheweb or answers, and for pics I use fotosearch.
These sites make life easier, thank god we live in the age of the internet.

Google, due to the fact as soon as i open firefox its the first thing that pops up as the start page ^.^
