Anyone Else Trying to Get Fit and Healthy??

    Hi...

Recently it just sort of dawned on me that I need to get my life on track. I've been eating heaps of junk, ignoring my body, in fact abusing my body, and not getting near the amount of exercise that I need.
As it is, I doubt that anybody who knows me is surprised that I am at least half a dozen kilos overweight... if not more.

My sister also wants to start going to the gym again, and said she'd be happy to go with me. So that's my only plan right now.
I dance as a hobby, and I'm trying to get better. My weight has been affecting my energy and ability a lot, and I think that if I got rid of some of the flab I would feel a lot better, and perhaps be able to dance better.

I'm going to be as healthy as I possibly can. The most important thing I can think of is to not skip meals or leave myself hungry because I have the tendency to over-eat or binge-eat. If I plan my meals out there'll always be some sustenance on the way, so that I don't get overly hungry, because when I do I jump at the nearest food and then stuff myself.

I've never had to be really strict on myself diet-wise because as a kid I was never overweight... although in the past I gave up sugar and all processed foods for quite a long time, and it gave me amazing results.

I asked my sister (who is studying to be a naturopath) what she thought I should do about my diet, and she said I would probably benefit from mixing raw foods with high protein.
Meaning to concentrate on lot of fresh veggies, allow myself two pieces of fruit a day, and for the only cooked thing I eat to be protein (meat, chicken, fish... hopefully of the lean variety.)
Anyway, I think it's an excellent start, and I actually feel motivated about this.

I want to accomplish things with my life. I've spent so long sedentary, in front of a computer, watching movies, writing stories about people who actually do things, or reading about them or watching them, while stuffing candy in my mouth...
What if I got up and went for a jog in the park, went to the gym, ate a salad with steak instead of a brownie, walked somewhere just for fun.
Yeah. I can be somebody. I know I can.

    Anyone else have similar aspirations?

I want to change my heath and eating habbits too. I'm trying to substitute junk with healthier stuff, and of course change how I feel about walking.

I'm pretty skinny-looking, but if you squeeze my arm or my legs, it feels like you're squeezing marshmallows... So I'm trying to lower my fat percentage even though I'm not actually "FAT." :)

I'm just watching the amount of calories I eat, staying away from junk food and making sure I get plenty of water, fiber, iron (since I'm borderline anemic), and vitamin e.

Right now, I just lift weights every couple of days, and go running/walking for half an hour to an hour at least once a week. Starting out slow, because last year when I did wrestling, I zipped right into exercising three and a half hours a day at practice six days a week and tired out my knee.

I'm not really worried about losing weight or anything though. I'm considered average health, but I don't like how I've let myself go after injuring myself last December. I look the same no matter what I do--except my legs get bulging muscle when I work out my legs... I just have to eat better because food seems to affect my acne, and work at changing the majority of my "fat" to muscle so I don't look like jello. :)

Even though I'm very skinny, I have a self-devised home exercise regimen that I've done off and on, with the objective of putting on weight (specifically muscle...) Started like two years ago but have never done it more than about a month at a time until now; only problem is that I can't seem to get in more than two workouts a week due to laziness. I'm trying, though...
