Should he?

Hello everyone. So earlier today I was with a friend and we were txting my boyfriend. We were joking around and such. But then the conversation got a little more serious. I was asking him questions and such and I asked the question "would you take a bullet for me?"

Well he said "idk" which was.....ok. I was alright with it.

So I was going to see how all of your opinions were on this....do you think that when you are in a couple, your "significant other" should automatically have that willingness to give his/hers life for yours? Hypotheically speaking of course.

    Posts would be greatly appreciated.

I would definetly take a bullet for my boyfriend. And my boyfriend died to save my life. So in some ways yes. Depends on how much you love them.

Edit: I didn't really answer the question before. I don't think it's necessary for people to automatically want to give their life for their significant other. Most people are not strong enough to do that, and I don't think its a bad thing. Plus, I would guarantee that many of the people who say they WOULD give their life for somebody, probably wouldn't be able to do it if that situation came up and they had to make a split-second decision.

For me,,it depends on how much i love her,,but usually when u love someone cant limit ma self im giving my full love,,

but maybe it depends on how long ur relationship is,,

so if im on ur situation,,maybe ill be sad,,

I would take a bullet for my boyfriend! I wouldn't second guess that at all.

Just because your dating someone it doesn't mean that they have to give their life for you.

it all depends on how long you've been together and if True love is really there.

sure you can love a lot of people

but true love is what really matters. why take a bullet for someone if they aren't really your true love

another thing. you all are onyl like 15 (so says your profile) i wouldn't have given my life for a boyfriend that young. i would want to live more.

Just because your in a relationship ,
it shouldnt mean your lover should atomatically give away he's life to save yours .
    thats what i think .

Yeah, just as everyone has said, just because you are together doesnt mean he HAS to give his life for you if the circumstance came to be.
there has to be some serious love there...

I think it really depends on the person. You can't automatically expect someone to be able to take a bullet for you. It depends on how much they love you which is a long process. Sacrificing your life for someone is something that's really difficult to grasp. I would take a bullet for my parents that's for sure but taking a bullet for someone else, that really depends.

I hate that question. its like being at the doctor's office with your parent standing right next to you and the doctor asking if you drink, do drugs, smoke, or are sexually active. you know what the answer is supposed to be but if it wasn't what are you gonna do? feel awkward and possibly lie

I think you never really know until maybe you are in that situation... I would take a bullet for my friends and family and I would take a bullet for my boyfriend, but he would do anything in his power to make it the opposite, because I know for a fact that he would take a bullet for me...
This is just my opinion... i dont know what the rest of you would think?

To be honest.. If it was a specific situation, faced with one other person and its a your life or theirs. If I let them die, whoever it was, I'd hate myself for the rest of my life. Rather dying for a cause than living and waking up feeling sick with myself every day...

I think that might be a trick question. I would never want someone to die for me.. i would like someone to push me out of the way of the bullet and not get hit themselves because they don't want to leave me all alone :) I don't think i would even ask that question.. PLUS someone can love you with all they have and still not die for you, self preservation can be a funny thing. Also.. At least he was honest, i know a lot of people that wouldn't tell the truth from that question.

^It is a trick question. Everyone thinks differently so I was seeing what people would say :)

Thanks Mia. Thats what I want this question to do. I want it to make you truly think about the meaning of this question.

Oh, also, I've had four years to think about it, and there is only one person i would risk my life for. One that there is no doubt. So yeah... I also think that that is a question not one person can answer on the spot like that.
