I ... umm. "borrowed" this idea from someone else, but really liked the idea behind it.

Write a poem using the title of any of MY poems. The title has to be the same, but the subject can be similiar, different, unrelated, etc. I want to see how people interrupt my titles.

No need to reserve; enter up to three titles; deadline will be Dec 8.

    Prizes:

    10 R/R/C
    7 R/R/C
    4 R/R/C

Feel free to PM me for any questions.

Have Fun / Be Creative / Keep Writing.

    Anti-Me

    Footsteps vibrate off hallways,
I feel you as you depart.
    Under sheets, between linen,
    Hides second and third chances.
You were never good at finding
The heart on my pant leg,
Draped in mud water on back roads.
Swung myself from the tallest tree,
No one ever notices but you.

    Miss Cynical: day-dreams are cheap.
What if I were to crack your frown?
Took some time so I can outlive
The leaves on the trees falling beneath me.
Always, asking questions with obvious answers,
Even is not square just odd in conversation,
Odd is never even, and an event to attend
Is not something you know how to do.
Flow cannot be rocky only smooth or not there.
And you, four feet under and counting,
Are simply not there at all.

    Tantrums And Tiaras

I got quite used to a word mind-game,
selling out every lie just to taste the tears-
    those crystals of defeat
    dancing through intoxicated emeralds,
empathetic as the blizzard fallen from our tongues.

... if there's an embodiment of my crimson moon,
trigger for the ebbs and tides, revolving satellites
like there are no future crimes to solve,
it would be you, a patron
of unspoken poetry and wasted ambiguity...

I got quite used to a word antidote,
existing as a parasite of your silver laughter-
    that pearly illusion, cryptic constellation
where the chimeras of the twilight reside
under the clouds covered with moss.

... if there's a welkin to these nostalgic eyes,
the force of gravity, merging galaxies
like the words can't suffocate their creator,
it would be you, an artist
with a paintbrush and a blade, palette of tsunamis,
and a heart of tantrums and tiaras.

    The Razor's Edge

    Walk along the lonely ledge
    Teeter totter on the edge
Where's the heart I swore to pledge
    The world washed it away

Said some words you never heard
In my head a thought occurred
What's the point, it's all absurd
    We're dying every day

Rant and rave, please do leave
I'm sure you'll need some time to grieve
    I myself do believe
I need some room to grow

It's not me, it's really you
Yet here I am still feeling blue
    Pondering what I must do
    To rise from this plateau

If love again, could be sublime
My heart would drift back down through time
Doves would fly and bells would chime
    Inside the insane mind

One whose sight just fades away
    Lost inside another's sway
    Drifting joyful to dismay
Such peace when you are blind

    Journey of the Heart

    I have tried to understand
What it is my heart yearned for
But the answer always eluded me
    Being just outside my reach.

    It pained me deep inside.
    Not knowing what was missing
    From this ordinary life
Just knowing that it needed more.

Then one day I meet you
    And then I understood.
    That I really needed
    your love and understanding.

My heart has been on a long journey
Searching for that special true love
That most only find once in a life time.
Sigh that is what I want and need.

    Learning that the hearts journey
Is a painful and tricky one.
But at the end of the day it was worth it
because I have you by my side.

    Echoes

In front of him lies a grand piano, in perfect shape,
Anxiously waiting for its music to fill the empty room.
Yet it remains to be inaudible, never being heard,
As silent as the precious earth standing still.

Then without having any second thoughts,
He gracefully pulls out the bench and sits down.
Placing his hands gently over the smooth keys,
A sensational lullaby starts to sound.

The melody harmonizes with the low bass,
Creating a composition so flawless in beauty.
His outstrected fingers swiftly moving across,
Never halting for a break, never resting.

As I enter the dim-lighted room for the first time,
His music plays out loud and reaches to my soul.
My heart is touced deeply as I stare blankly,
Astonished that such musical perfection existed.

Holding my breath, I ever so carefully walk on,
Hoping not to disturb or startle him whatsoever.
He suddenly turns and glances, his lips turning upward,
Inviting me to come and bask in the glory of it all.

No words need be spoken, nor actions be made,
For hearing this melody left me breathlessly speechless.
I lean against him so content, smiling brightly,
As our two joined heartbeats tap in tune together.

Time seemed to pass slowly, knowing to go steadily,
Dreams soon transformed into memories of heaven.
It was growing darker, but his shining eyes never faded,
As his luxiourious lullaby echoed on through our hearts.

    Journey Of The Heart.

    Forget the chances taken,
    as you set forth today.
    Revise the plan to forward,
the path that shows the way.
    Precede with much less caution,
    that all the times before...
Since, the fellow of your dreams
is what your heart is longing for.
