Yea i believe in the christian religon and have been thinking about that all day. Then i came up with an idea , have one of your friend who wants to die too. And both of you slice each others wrists and then its murder and you can be forgiven and tada you didnt commit sui! Yea it might sound horrid and gross, but it might work, but ne wayz

In my religion those that take their own lives are not welcomed into paradise and I couldn't agree with that more strongly. We see it as a selfish act and as you said above the taking in vain of one of Gods most precious gifts.

    And Andi...

That is not a good idea if your stupid enough to promise your next life to the firey pits of hell don't take a friend with you - how you do it is not the point...God can see what your INTENTIONS are...

    Foolish foolish people...

=Eirisa= yea he may know my intentions but if he cared enuf about any one on this earth why would he makes us go through a living hell to the point we want to die. I mean come on isnt he suppose to be allloving and merciful, and forgiving?

I think people who are sad and commit suicide and even the ones who don't but are sad go to heaven, because death is all about change. I think the stronger happy people, through the process of change, go to hell, but work their way back to heaven and they will make it back because they are strong. That way we all end up in heaven laa de dee thats my happy ending.

i am a Christian.. a Baptist Christian to be exact, and i believe the same thing as Kairi does.
    Good Answer Girl!!
i do also believe the part about forgiveness though.. i have been taught that God is always there to forgive you, but you need to accept the forgiveness..
so, yeah.. lets say someone murders someone else, and later on in his life he's taught about God and Jesus and the Bible, etc.... if he believes it enough to ask God into his heart, and allow God to forgive his sins, then he'll go to heaven when he dies.
i don't truly believe that you WOULD commit suicide if you bought into the whole thing.. regretfully, i know that believers have done it, and i can't say for sure where they went..
all i can say is that i know where i'm going, and if you wanna be sure what's gonna happen to you, there's only one way to do it. we'll all find out someday, and believe me.. it won't be expected
i know, when i get to heaven, there are gonna be a whole lot of people there that i never thought would have made it. and, it works the other way around too.. people that i was expecting to see again will be in hell instead....
the bible doesn't say specifically what happens to you if you commit suicide, so the only way to find out would be to do it. which, of course, i don't recommend.
i don't know if that helped at all..
    sorry if it didn't

my mom and brother say that u dont go to either, u go to a limbo. and besides, right before you die, you could ask god to forgive you, therefore you may go to heaven, you may see the light right before you go. it's a hard question to answer.

jsut think that the first person on hearth made thsi all up... and he was concidered sane.. what if the first person on earth sed all teh opposite of wut the real 1st person on earth sed. this man today wood b "insane" but if he was the 1st man on earth than today sane wood b insane. were ever we go its much better than here... ur all spirit and mind i think.... i think were in death rite now it beneath all of our material things but werea ll to blinde to see it and wen we die we grow eyes and can see the world for wut it shood b and that place is reality

Is it just me or does God seem like a dictator to anyone else. Not trying to be rude here but, doesn't god have powers over people like life and death and get to condemn people to hell? Does that remind anyone else of Hitler?

If you believe in heaven and hell, and comit suicide, you go to hell. i mean you can murder someone and get into heaven because you have a chance to ask for forgivness. but you can't if you kill your self becuz your dead.

  • Bret Higgins

God IS a dictator and you wouldnt want him any other way. Things are much easier to understand in black and white and a few shades of grey. What would life be like if the rules were in technicolour... thats 32 million hues... sod that.

Kill yourself and you're taking a one way express elevator to hell. Trading 50 or 60 years of life for an eternity of pain and humiliation seems like a stupid idea to me.

If you believe in reincarnation and kill yourself you're in even worse trouble.

Suicide is apathetic selfish laziness; an easy way out for the weak willed. Wake up, have a boiled egg and go for a jog instead.

I'm harsh when it comes to suicide and I know it. But then I've seen four people (four people too many and Im not even counting his friends. i.e. me) have their lives completely shattered because their son/brother was too selfish to step up to the plate and change his life around.

Black and white is so dated. Heaven bloody well better be in technicolour, or im going to hell. Plus it's warm there.

  • Robyn Park

Bert, I believe in reincarnation, but I also believe that suicide is not a bad thing.

I don't belong to any religion, other than the church of Robyn Park. But, as a lot of people here already said, how can God punish people for commiting suicide when they called on him for help? And, say what you will, but there is not one person on the face of the earth who before and while they were killing themselves they didn't ask God for help and guidance. Where was God then? How can we be punished if God is supposed to be our Savior, and he didn't save us?

I've talked to people before who say "you can't make deals with God, because he has a plan for us all." What BS! God put us here, and said "Do this and this and this and this and eventually, you'll be happy forever, as long as you do exactly as I tell you to." And what do we get in actuality? For a lot of us, its a crappy life with a small chance of heaven.

The God that I believe in is actually merciful and kind, and actually suffered and went through all the things we did, and understands that sometimes life is too hard to take. He may not like suicide, but he understands the need for it. Jesus suffered and went through all that pain but then he died. How long did he have to suffer for it? He could have saved himself. But, in a way, he commited suicide. He left himself be killed. He might not have put the nails in his own body, but he allowed them to be put there. The God I believe in wouldn't send someone to hell because they couldn't take the pain and strife that living offers. He understands.

Ok, so maybe I'm crazy, but in my book, you go to Heaven.

Wow Robyn maybe i'll come to live in heaven with your god. He's the only decent one on offer so far. Failing that, i'll go join the devil in hell cos its warm there.

An interesting view point, to be sure.

    Why doesn't God help?

All God asks of you is that your life is lived, that you do your best and try to do the right thing. God doesn't act, that's what hangs up most people... The "He did all this wonderous stuff and yet he can't get of his arse for ten minutes to help me out." syndrome. Well, he's not going to do that because he wants a free follower, self aware and mentally strong enough to just know.

Jesus the Saviour of Mankind Vs Jim the Suicide of Manhatten (Ooo there's a poem title right there.)

There is a world of difference in sacrificing one's self for the betterment of mankind and packing it in because you think no one understands you (just an example I am not generalising).

The biggest difference is this: The Jews wanted Jesus punished and killed. No one wanted James to slash his throat (forget wrist slitting, if you want a job done, do it properly) his family begged and pleaded with him not to be rash, his friends told him not to do it. Its a pure case of Sacrifice Vs Selfish.

Very interesting viewpoint though, I'm sure that when you hit my age you'll be just fine.

It's refreshing to see strong opinions as long as they are honest and earnest. So feel free to tell my to shove my head up my arse and suffocate if that's what you really feel, but back it up with the reasons why, like a couple of you have done. It's not going to offend me in the least. It'll do one thing though, it'll get me thinking you might have a voice worth listening to.

The Passion of the Christ is a great film, if it doesn't make you feel spiritual (regardless of religion or denomination) then you ain't going to... not for a good while at least.

Regardless of reason, if you leave family and or friends behind I'll see suicide as the ultimate insult to God in whatever form you see him or her or it.

I am a Christian, but I don't really practice my religion.. I don't like go to church or pray or anything like that... on the topic of heaven or hell after suicide, i don't really know.
In my opinion, the Christian religion is hypocritical in a sense. Like in this situation, if someone were to kill themselves, according to the bible they would go to hell. But if God loves everyone and everyone is forgiven for their sins then shouldn't everyone go to heaven?
I am going to stop here, I could go on forever about this stuff.. I fight with my mother about this all the time...

Amanda, I went to the extreme for the sake of example.

There is nothing to be sorry for.

Do not feel bad at all!!!

If god doesnt interfere then how is he helping anyone? He's not. More than that he doesnt exist. He is just a symbol for hope! There is no god.
