Christmas Wishes

I just wish love and happiness would overcome the world.

Perhaps my wish is silly or childish, but I don't mind sharing, and I'd like for everyone else to share! :) What are some of your Christmas wishes?

My X-mas wish for people who celebrate X-mas:

Please do not buy gifts that overload this globe. Do not make more waste by buying unuseful material. Instead of items give your loved ones for example time, concert ticket. Tell stories, sing songs...anything non-material.

I think kind of on the line of what Bob said...I thought about this the other day, a group of people were standing in front of a store selling cakes and baked goods to help kids in shelters have a Christmas, people would glance in their direction and keep walking ,and talking about the happy season, My wish would be that people would start taking the time to think about the kids in this world who are not having the childhood that every child deserves to have, how hard would it be to help just one small bit. Action not words.

I wish for a billion bucks, and I'd give each of you a $5 Starbucks Gift Card ;)

^Now that is a lovely wish. Should be $10, though. At least for me. ;D

    Mmm, sweet. Thank you :)

I wish Britt will be able to do what she needs to do to deserve and receive her Christmas wishes.

Hahaha. Maybe so, Britt. Maybe so... ;)

All this talk about coffee makes me want doughnuts.

I wish everyone could have any doughnut of their choice. Except sluv, because he said Starbucks sucks.

Doughnuts are delicious.. Can I have yours? But you sure do learn something every day. Although I'm not quite sure what I learned today.. Hmm.

Haha! I'm afraid I already knew that. ;)

Don't mind if I do! -Gobbles up your not-too-stale doughnuts.- Tastes like free. :)

Did I mention REDEEMABLE Starbucks Gift Cards? But sure, let's make 'em 10 bucks...forgive me for being so selfish ;)

And I was actually making fun of Starbucks 'cause it's got such a bad rep... at least 'round here. Damn hippies always complaining about chains. I got attacked by a mob of hippie bicyclists the other day on my moped! Apparently I was polluting their ride, oh no! I kicked one in the shins pretty good, pushed another, told a few I'd kill them if they touched me. Made it out alright actually!

    What were we talking about?
    Merry Christmas.

Starbucks gots a good rep here. I don't see too many hippies where I'm from, though. Mostly crackheads.. like no joke. My mom got out of her car in the CVS parking lot and they all ran up to her.

    Crackheads: "M-m-ma'am?"
Mom: "I'M SORRY, I CAN'T HELP YOU!" -Runs into store.-

    True story. :)

Got plenty of "crackheads" here too. They're as common as squirrels, but unfortunately not as skittish.

I would also like some of those little squishy yellow easter duck marshmallow things! Wrong holiday, but come on... Those are exquisite.

Ha! You are talking about Peeps, I hate those things! I like the Cadbury mini eggs. Wrong holiday again but yummy!

At Christmas my mom used to make magic cookie bars, they were always my favorite.

Have any of you ever done anything for your community at Christmas? I usually donate something to the Salvation Army, whether it be my time at the soup kitchen or some clothes or money.

A few years back I went to local business' and solicited donations. I actually raised $1900 in cash and I also got some stores to donate gift certificates for grocery items. I went to one of the low income housing complexes and got a list of how many residents and the ages and sex of the children. After I purchased some gift certificates so everyone would have one, I took my list to the store and bought toys for the kids. We had a Christmas party for them and had them put their handprints in paint on a mural that we hung at the "neighborhood house" in the complex. We had a Santa with free pictures, pizza, drinks and little stockings with a treat and gift certificates from McDonalds that I solicited as well. It was the most awesome feeling to see the smiles on those children's faces. I sent the companies a thank you letter and let them know how many people their generous donations helped. I also reminded them that if many people give a little, it sure does turn out to be alot! I wish I could do it again and now that my kids are getting older, I think it would be a great experience for them to help me doing it. I am going to try again next year.

I wish that people would remember Christmas is also about giving, not just receiving.

I wish all of you and your families the best of health and happiness this holiday season!

You're lying! Are you smoking crack today?

    Crack head Santa!

I have to say my evil counterpart that your foul sarcasm brightens my day:)

Have you ever microwaved Peeps? It's so awesome. x] Cadbury eggs are SO GOOD! I want some really bad now.

That's really cool, Rachel. My youth church group usually makes dinners or treats and gives them out. It is a nice feeling. :)
