Why are We Born to Die?

Hey... i'm pretty sure we all get like this every now and then right. Get scared about the idea of dieing. I used to get like that once every few months. Yet lately... its been everyday for the past month. I could speak to my parents... brother or girl friend, but i feel like ill be putting a burden on them.

So i thought i would just post this instead... hopefully get some feed back.

My issue is the fact i dont want to die, i guess no one really dose. People say its just the natural thing... i agree. But is their something after all this. Why are we to just die... to go onto something else... thats fine ok... but to just stop existing? I t scares the hell out of me.

I dont want to fear it you know... maybe i need something or someone to really live for. i mean im 19... dose this mean ill naturally think about this all the time for a little while and grow out of it... or do i need help.

If there is something after... i need proof... sure ill find out when the grim reaper comes around for dinner... but... seriously... i need some advise.

    HELP

I used to be scared of it, I figured out, for me, it was because I couldn't process what happens when you die. Of course no one really knows and we won't know until it happens to us. So now, though I do think of it once in a while, it no longer scares me, I am too busy making sure I get things finished before my inevitable day comes.

Our minds tend to look for answers, the ones we don't find can definetely turn into fears, don't let them eat you, just accept that no one knows and live your life.

I prefer to think that we are born to live not die, but anyways. Death is easy, it's living that's hard. I've never been afraid of dying (maybe becuase I've always seen it as being so peaceful). It's living I fear. But I understand where you are comming from. Yet, you got to live your life every single day the way you want it so that when it's done you can say "I had a great life" and be satisfied like at the end of a great movie.

As a sidenote Merry Christmas! :)

If we were born to die we'd be born then die living only seconds... we are born to live a great life, whether good or bad, then go into another eternal life, this life is just a passageway... I don't think that we don't exsist after death, we can't, or at least we can't think of it because it seems impossible, because we have learnt that energy doen't dissapear and it isn't born from nothingness... the fact that we are alive means that we are made of some kind of energy... a lifeforce... our souls. Maybe our bodies dissapear, but our souls don't.

We are born to die to give life meaning. a reason for living.

you can't appreciate something unless you know that it's not going to be around forever.

and when you really appreciate every second of your life, you do everything you can to make that life as meaningful as possible. whatever you happen to find meaning in.

I guess i dont see it that way. I see it as we are born to live and then we die. People dont realize it but this is your life..right now you're living your life like it or not. I think that we were born to experience everythng have fun make a statement and then we leave. for some people its just sooner than others.

We are born to live to make change to have a reason. death, though inevitable, is not something to be feared. we die and maybe there is something after wards maybe not. what counts is the the way we live and not about death. from a christian perspective we are judge by the way we live and that determines where our after life will be. i completely believe in after life. i dont know if its eternal bliss or a kingdom above the clouds but there is something beyond human comprehension that we should not fear but welcome when the time comes.

Well I do think that we
are really born to die coz this life that we live right now is not an enternal life, it's just a waiting room that we wait in for a while to leave it to another world in the after life where we are going to live forever with our minds and hearts and I think it's much more better than this world..

Everyone already said what I was going to say, but I'll just put it out there anyway. Death exist not because its the earth's only way to "balance us out", but to make us realise how precious life is. We have learned all the lessons from the ones before us and we will teach our lessons to the ones after us. Everyone is afraid to die at one point or another, but dwelling on those thoughts make the gift that was given to us seem small. If you had someone in your life (god forbid) die, would you dwell on how that person left? Or reminisce on how that person lived? Humans tend to investigate, with great detail, on things that can't be answered. In turn become afraid of what can't be explained. Some are afraid of the dark, some are not. Some are afraid of death, some are afraid of life. Hell, people are afraid of what are they're are gonna do in few years time. Being afraid is normal, human, just don't let questions that can only be answered by God rattle you. Instead, enjoy yourself. Go for a walk in the park with your head held high. Go watch a movie with friends, or just say "screw it" and pig out on junk food. Wash your car, clean your room, look at the stars, rock out to your preferred music. FALL IN LOVE, that will really take your mind off of things. Whatever you want to do, just live and enjoy life for what its worth.

Wow, I used to think this way too.. I don't believe in life after death, or at least there's something other than heaven and hell!
I used to have fears and think of it so much.. time will go on and on and we're dead..that's it..it's scary..
but you know, all we're gonna die.. I'm not afraid of it anymore.. and the moment we die we won't know, so just live your life..

Im not really scared of it
but now and then i think do we really have to die?
I dont want to die.. what will happen after that?
Is there really something after death?
Do i see my boyfriend again?**
    Or my family?
Sometimes i think of it .. Mostly when i feel really happy.
And i do at this time. :)

I'm not scared about it, just unsure of what happens afterwards. To answer the thread's title, it's because life sucks, and the world is a sick and twisted place.

Scientists say the first person to live to 1000 years has already been born. Chew on that for a while.

Even the best of us die one day. :P

Personally, I don't believe in anything after death. Even if there is an afterlife, we're not going to know until we're dead.
I think you have two options here:
    1. You keep on pondering questions you will never get answers to.
    2. Accept that we as humans cannot ever know for certain what happens after death... And that we are all going to die, we might aswell enjoy life while we can.

I'm going to die. You're gonna die. We're all gonna die.

My motto is"There probably is no God, so stop worrying and get on with your life." XD

What do you mean "we're born to die"?
    We're born to live.
    Otherwise we wouldn't be born...

Death is just a part of life, not the opposite.

I know how you feel exactly. I had panic attacks over this issue when i was severly depressed. the most that i can do is try not to think about it im 18 right now and i have i hope a long time ahead of me. but i alaways like the notion that if something was really bad where ever you go when you die that my grandpa was searously find a way to contact me about it i know he would becasue he loved me more then any ne thing. so i think that its ok becasue peoples love 4 1 another dosent cant just fizzle out. i think its impossible and that helps me too. and death sucks and i do wish that it diddent happen coz it really scares the shit out of me. but you also have to think that your making some kind of an impact here and that your helping people no matter how small that is. that helps too

you can also try getting a perscription 4 xanix

80% of teens have depression. did you know that?
    makes you wonder...
