Firefly (I warn you, this is awful and slightly off topic!)

    Stars twinkle in realms above,
    As peaceful as Noah's dove.
    Releasing light unto our world
From the first day that it twirled.

The stars fall from their grace
Every day in this galactic race.
    Catching one from the sky,
    I marvel at this 'firefly'.

    I caged the firefly, like a coward;
Research, I did; the Internet scoured.
Failure hit me, a slap round the face.
Could I ever be forgiven for this disgrace?

I realised with a quiet sigh
That my captive was not a firefly.
Never would be, never could be,
I wondered if she would forgive me.

My 'firefly' was my one true error,
So I helped her escape my terror.
With a thrust into the sky,
I released my star, my firefly.

    Wide Awake Road

    Tentative silhouettes
    prancing alongside,
    blurring mist of deceit
    blindfolding sight.

    Tangled vines of failure
    creeping ahead,
    scheming to topple
    from path you tread.

    Discarding the veil on
    unfaltering faith,
    buoyant rays will reveal
    destiny's gate.

    Ride on conviction
    to mellow dreams abode,
    across the no-where land
    awaits, wide awake road.

    Falling From Grace

    Vision presents color,
    willing ego's to shrink,
    filling feeble thoughts,
    rendering nature's lies.

    Battling dreaded thoughts,
    forgetting demented souls.
Drinking from the blood of wine,
    awaiting completion whole.

    Pertaining to your mind,
    valuable thoughts do not exist.
    Shadowing memories
    scratch at your wrist.

    Falling from grace,
    flash buttons scream.
    Portraits behold smiles,
of a child unable to dream.

    *Smile Like You Mean It*

When the world is cold and lonely
    And nobody seems to care
    Remember you need to smile
    Because its always there

    Smile like you mean it
    Like things will be okay
    Like when tomorrow comes
    It brings a better day

When you feel you're out of strength
Like you just can't go on
    Remember things get better
    So put your smile on

    Smile like you mean it
    Like happiness isn't far
Like this is part of being human
And really that's all we are

There is a battle of sad and happy
And we'll always be in between it
So even when sadness gets you down
Just smile, like you mean it.

    "breathe in, breathe out

    Take a deep breathe
    Breathe. Jesse. Breathe.

    Deserve to breathe?
    Me?
No, what I deserve is 30 feet at the bottom of a pool
    With sharks
This way if I somehow make it to the top
And inhale again and feel air
    They kill me
    Rip me
My blood mixing with the water like smoke in air
    Red
    Red smoke and taste it
    Tastes like copper
Clouding the water as I go
    Gone
    Going
    Still going
    Not gone yet
    I can feel it
    Them
    Tearing at me
    Killing me
Why the fkcu won't I die
Why the fkcu won't they kill me
    The water is darker
    Blood can be black too
    Clouding

    DAMN IT JESSE BREATHE

    Breathing
    Inhale
    Exhale
    Scream
    Break the fkcuing mirror
With the shatter pieces in my hand
The shattered sharks in my hand
    Running the water
    In the tub
    Well.
    You know the rest.

    Nails In Hand

Jesus knew what He had to do,
To open the gates of Heaven.
    Crucified on a wooden cross,
    Enduring the harsh suffering.

He was whipped and stripped brutally,
Jesus knew what He had to do.
    Soldiers mocked His glorious name,
They spat on the face of Our Lord.

Yet not once did Christ turn around,
But instead took and lived with pain.
Jesus knew what He had to do,
To save us from our sinful fate.

A crown of thorns, piercing His head,
As nails were hammered in His flesh.
Angels from above mourned and weeped,
Jesus knew what He had to do.

    Quatern~

A quatern has four stanzas, each stanza has four lines. Every line has eight syllables only. It doesn't have to rhyme, but it does follow a specific pattern of line repetition. The first stanza's first line is repeated as the second stanza's second line, the third stanza's third, and the final stanza's fourth.

    Can I have clocks please?

  • xLeftxBehindx

There are too many clocks in life to count
    No real certain amount
Our lives have surrounded itself around time
    Thus clocks have to chime

They tell us when it's time to get the kid
Or when to do work on that grid
The clock tells us when to go to sleep
Tells us when to get a new jeep

Everything has their own time when they are due
That assignment or when you get the flu
    Clocks control that time
Time is so valuable its not even worth a dime

What would happen if we took away that clock
Bet they would spend more time kissing on that dock
Or she wouldn't worry when to get to work
That won't happen cause everything would go berserk

Our lives have surrounded itself around time
    Thus clocks have to chime

    Lucky Number Thirteen, please

  • kelleyana

    Lucky number 13

Acute power or a mystical virtue?
    Not daring to venture further
Became superstitious by token and sign,
Leaving the most positive meanings behind

Ends with a 3 that reminds me of the trinity
    A belief that kept within
All good things comes in double,
You're not alone just behind 1
Together you became 13 an age in certain
Tradition when a boy became a man

    Among the many numbers
People pretends you came out the worst
even saying that you are a curse
But besides all others, you came first
    Ignorance do hurts,
So they put you behind as a negative sign

Thinking of you makes me enjoy
    The intricacies of mental calculates
A million seconds in 13 days,
    13 stripes for thirteen states
A Friday 13 in every year

Again let me be a bit humoristic
Since I'm in love with mathematics
    For those who calculates well,
Come let me play with your head
Close your eyes using the power of your mind
Pick and choose which power hidden inside you
The clock strike 13 hours, the mind reminds
    us that it's 1 'o'clock,
infact we're back at the starting block

Since things became a mystery we tend
Not to go beyond our senses
13 is a number that all human share
The 13 major joints in our body
13 lunar cycles in a solar year
And the moon travels 13 degrees across the sky everyday
Making things works in a mysterious way.

    Sticks and Stones
    by Spirit

    Sticks and stones
    may break my bones,
but what "may" a bullet do?

    May hit the head
    of my lover in bed
and shatter my heart in two

    May take away
    love none could sway
    and ruin a perfect past

    May rip apart
    the angel's heart
and tear us apart at last

    May kill the dream
    of a love redeemed
    then leave me here alone

    For gone's my bliss
    and I'll tell you this
It hurts more than sticks or stones
