I just can't seem to find the right time to sleep and to be awake. If it werent' for having a job I would not know what day it was. I am awake still and been up for 19 hours. Anyone else not able to sleep right? And what do you do to fall asleep? I've tried so many things and can't do it no matter how much I love dreaming.

I wish i had the answer for you. I know how hard it is when the hours and minutes are counting down to the time when you have to "get up" for work and you havent even slept yet. I've been there before.

    Ya, I'm like that.
When I have school I'm ok with the sleeping, Because I have it all scheduled in my mind and I keep looking at the clock to make sure I get things done on time, but sometimes I just have too much on my mind to go to sleep so I end up sleeping at about 3 in the morning, wake for school at 5:30 and then I get some more sleep in the afternoon and sometimes too much...
holidays are messed up as you said I don't know what day it is and I sleep sometimes too much and sometimes less than I need and it's never in an appropriate time.
Last summer my sleeping was ok, I guess it's because I was less stressed out and exausted myself throughout the day so that I had to go to sleep, and I kept track of the time, kept the curtains open (so that the natural lighting affects my unconcious mind) so, your body natrually reacts to that and goes sleepy when you need to go to sleep and wakes when you need to be awake... when I just have too much in my mind I take a pen and paper and write it all down to get it out, that helps a lot, now I keep a journal and a pen next to my bed to write my thoughts down.

That journal and pen by the bed sounds like a really good idea. I know I can't get my mind to shut up so it's probably a good idea to write it all out to give myself some peace when I lay down. Thank you!

If you sleep with your door closed, try sleeping with it open. Also try a fan and opening your window. This helps the air flow better and if you do fall asleep you will wake up more refreshed. Hope it helps, and good luck.

This depends if you're actually an Insomniac or not. If not, you could just be going through a period of time where you cannot sleep well, try what the others say, read a book, watch t.v., work-out (very tiring suprisingly), drink warm milk!! (weird, but still), and many other alternatives, but if you actually have Insomnia you should see your doctor and tell him/her how long this has been going on, he/she may be able to provide another alternative, such as sleeping pills and other medications designed to help with the condition.

Hope I helped, and as a fellow Insomniac, I hope the best for you.

I went through that i month or so ago
    i tried everything:
having a hot drink before bed
    taking herbal sleeping pills
even running during the day to tire me out
    but nothing worked
and i figured that it was stress i was thinking to much about work and school and problems that i had and i found that once i sorted the problems and stopped worring so much i was able to sleep again
    hope this helps :)

There are pills, I think they're called melatonin pills, and they send the natural hormone to your brain that makes you sleepy, helping to regulate your sleeping cycle. They're not addicting either. I take them sometimes and they seem to work for me. Try that out if you're still having trouble, but you might want to ask your doctor first. You can get them without a prescription.
