When lying is OKAY.

I think everyone has lied at one point in their lifes, and if they havent....THATS A LIE!! LOL!!
But I believe sometimes you have to, so you wont hurt peoples feeling or beliefs....
But its not healthy, because Ive lied before and I HAVE to keep lying to keep the one little lie as realistic as possible...
So its not good... at the end.

And we do lie to children all the time...
Like for example my nieces and nephews they believe in Santa Claus and the toothfairy....
and the boogey man!! lol!!
But it keeps their inocence as much as possible...

Everyone has lied in life, the difference between every minute to once a year is really the only difference. I doubt there is anyone in the world who hasn't made //one// single lie. Now hear me out, I'm sure even the most religious person may have lied about something. Maybe not something big but something really small like saying "No I love chocolate ice cream" when they really don't to be polite.

^That is a complete no-no. I totally disagree to that. It isn't alright, but I'm sure many people lie about that.

There are some specific times when you can lie. Like maybe, lying to a friend and telling them you're going out with your mom; when you really go out with another friend to buy them a birthday present. Something like that. But most of us probably lie to get the easy way out. -shrug-

Lying to a friend about a surprise birthday.. duh. :P

^^ Yer stuff like that its obviously ok to lie. While its probably not right, I think you can lie as long as its only going to affect you and no one else if the truth is found out. For example, I'll lie my pants off to my teachers if I havn't done my homework for some reason but thats only becoz if they find out I'm lying the only person who is going to get in trouble is me! lol. But stuff like lying and pinning the blame on someone else is just in no way cool.

We should just give examples of when lying is okay, instead of delving into ethical wank, because we all know the answer anyway.

My example: For a job application for an executive corporate position, you write that your name is Margaret Therese Small, even though your real name is Margaret Thunderpussy Small.
