I am terribly, terribly sorry for not doing this on the 1st. But my ex boyfriend just broke up with me the day before April 1st as I learned he cheated on me and had 4 kids the whole time he was with me. I hope you forgive me for being late. (I've been trying to move on since then because I learned its not worth crying over someone who never loved you and even though it hurts like h_ll because you loved him more then anything, I just gotta keep my head up high and live another day!)

And since I haven't had any family members die, could I write it about my close friend who committed suicide last December please. that impacted me deeper than anything. I would greatly appreciate it if I could do this.

Go Rest High On That Mountain.

A simple question that holds a million answers.
Was it a broken relationship; broken home?
If only I could have told you to reevaluate,
look upon the biggest mistake you ever made.

A walk through the halls the day you died;
it was like walking through a funeral home.
Tears flowed from every eye that was there,
your picture plastered upon the bare wall.

My own blue eyes are blurred at your actions,
comforting hands pat my cold, frigid shoulders.
I'll try to make it on through this day alone,
the pain and sadness will finally settle inside.

Screams of "how could he do this to us,"
they reside in the voices of every student.
My voice is a whisper, I refuse to say a word.
Your suicide affecting my every day life.

"Wasting My Time"

For so long, I've tried to be perfect;
not even that, just good enough for you.
I failed numerous times, a number unknown
and you looked right past me to see her.

'Be more like your sister, and you'll succeed'-
words that play over and over in my mind.
I'm wasting my time trying to please you
instead of being the person who I really am.

'Do this, do that, stop f**king up so much,
finally do something to make us proud.'
Nothing I do is right, because I'm not her-
the golden child that you've always loved.

'Make something of yourself, get good grades,
give us a reason to praise you, any reason'.
It's a waste of time to try and make you happy
afterall, failing seems to be my strength.

WHen I Get Where I'm Going

Seems all my life people doubted
Said I'd never amount to much
Told me I'd fail anything I tried
Said, "You're no good" and such

Couldn't help but believe them
Confidence lowering every day
Doubt starting to eat me up inside
Thinking things would never be okay

Self esteem became non existent
Hiding pain I was going through
Pretending that I was really happy
Knowing in my heart I was being untrue

And yet slowly you made me believe
That I can do anything I set my mind to
Given me my confidence and self worth back
Now my dreams and wishes I can finally pursue

Don't even know how much you've given me
More grateful than you'll probably ever realize
Will be indebted to you always and forever
More thankful each time I gaze into your eyes

The Cold, Hard Truth

Look at you, standing there in all your glory
Smile as pretty as a picture, yet secretly falsified
Sly as a fox, never thought that would describe you
But then, I'm just one of hundreds you managed to fool

Finally, people are starting to see your true colors
Guess what honey? They're not as pretty as you make out
Cunning as a wolf, do anything to get your own way
But sweetie, people are seeing behind that gleaming smile

Now cracks are showing,l revealing your mendacious side
Can't help but wonder...what did I ever see in you?
Value honesty and loyalty, something you know nothing about
You're a walking billboard for vicious lies and betrayal

Yet you're still acting as though your as innocent as a child
Turning everything on me, god forbid blame be placed on you!
Only, everyone knows that you're the one in the wrong
It's just you, to immature and self centered to realize it

But one day, a time will arrive when you need somebody
Only you'll turn around and discover that nobody is there
See, the truth hurts worse than anything I could do to you
Just know...that I'm going to revel in your defeat
