    Turn Off the Stars

    Free into the world underneath
    Into the world rarely seen
Into the world of true life
Search can not find in the light
Come when the moon can excite
Come when the moon and sun meet time

    (Chorus)
Please turn off the stars in the sky
Turn off the sun it's too bright
Darkness is best covered in moonlight
Please stop the wind in the trees
    Stop the churning of seas
    Listen to the midnight's heartbeat
Turn off the stars, turn off the stars

Echo these words bounce off and on
    Into the midnight sun
Don't you hear its call of response
    Beauty that which intoxicates
    Can't be explained during day
    It just tricks and taunts

    (Chorus)
Please turn off the stars in the sky
Turn down the sun it's too bright
Darkness is best covered in moonlight
Please stop the wind in the trees
    Stop the churning of seas
    Listen to the midnight's heartbeat
Turn off the stars, turn off the stars

    Please, please
    Turn off the stars
    Turn off the light
    Turn off the stars
    And make sure it's alright
    Turn off the stars
    Turn off the light
    Turn off the stars
And make sure it's held tight

    Turn off the stars
    Turn off the light
    Turn off the stars
    And make sure your alright
    Turn off the stars
    Turn off the light
    Turn off the stars
And make sure it's held tight

    (Chorus)
Please turn off the stars in the sky
Turn down the sun it's too bright
Darkness is best covered in moonlight
Please stop the wind in the trees
    Stop the churning of seas
    Listen to the midnight's heartbeat
Turn off the stars, turn off the stars

A hollow tree lingers in the forest
    (Silent)
    Nobody hears it fall
    Empty carcass
    No one can tell
    That there was once life

    Life escaped it
    The bare branches shake
    Everything diminished
    A scarred shrub

    For whosoever gave it life
    Has taken the leaves
    And left but a stump
On the the hollowed tree's scars

    Creatures crawl throughout
Leaving hands on bump and knot
    Deteriorating
    What was left
    Of the carcass

    Now
    The remnant
    Is broken art
    Since H-E left

Perhaps the blooms shall die this winter,
leaving specks of dust to remember
all the times the rain did fall,
and when the sunshine gave it's all.

    maybe just a while longer
and the stems would have rot away.
but it seems the frost never once,
gave this bed the time of day.

pronounce the buds of late july,
too weak to stand a chance.
    following in footsteps
that have never learned to dance

through-out the days of heated summer,
so many times they've fallen down -
    drowned within the water,
dead for moments, smothered for some
and perhaps the blooms shall die this winter,
but their precious colors shine with the sun.

    Roses/Last Nights Rain

    The dark gloomy night,
is carefully guided by the moon.
As the glimmering glaring sun rises,
you have your first fill just before noon.

    The evening blows its winds,
as the grass clothes the earth.
    Although life leads to death,
we are blessed for every birth.

The trees whisper to the birds,
as they drip from last nights rain.
    Fireflies flicker in the bushes,
where the peace and mist remain.

    The reflections in the water,
and the damp moisture on every stone.
There are dead roses in the backyard,
as if neglected and left alone.

    The trees remain intently silent,
as the birds singly fly away.
    The fireflies keep to rest,
as the shimmering sun refuses to stay.

    Day is now night,
and the air is filled with fog.
    The trees are sadly falling,
and used for a fire wood log.

    The roses are dead,
there's just way too much pain.
I should have seen this coming,
The pain from last nights rain.
