I'd pull out the ring and say something, "I can say with all my heart i love you and want to be with you forever, will you promise to help make that happen?"

I dunno, something with promise in it so she doesn't get the wrong idea and think it's an engagement cos you'e both a bit young for THAT! lol

I think it's a sweet idea =))

Chris takes out ring: "NO!" (girl friend is hyperventilating) "It's not what you think it is! Breathe, breathe!"

I would do it before prom...the best way I think is if you say what is in your heart.

Thats not the way I took the meaning of a promise ring. When my boyfriend gave me mine we had already been talking about it.. but in my understanding a promise ring is what YOU promise to do. (never cheat, love her forever, be with her forever, etc.) then at the end ask her if she'll always be yours or something like that.
