How do we class a poem as a Love Poem

I have not been a member of this site very long yet I have read quite a lot of the poetry on offer and I have become disillusioned. As most of the poems under Love Poems hold no joy or happiness in them. In fact in some of the members portfolio's I have been close to slashing my wrist with the despair at some of them.
Perhaps I am just an old foggy, as I try to put Joy in my poems or at least Hope. Has Love changed so much since I was young I am 61 shortly. What do you think? Ray S

I have had some comment on some of the poems I have submitted to the love section because they didn't fall into the "love" category, but all love isn't happy love and not all realization that love has ended is a sad moment. If I am writing about love I put it in the love section, if I am writing about sadness it goes in sadness etc....
