Sims 3

Anybody have sims 3 on the pc yet?? im getting it at the weekend and would like to know if it runs smooth.. any glitches?

I bought it today as a graduation present and stupid me forgot that my dvd-rom drive has been broken for a couple years now. so i cant play it at the moment, but i figured with all the games being dvd-rom type now, i should invest in a new one, so monday when my boyfriend gets back we're going to get one and he'll install it. i was SO bummed though when i got home and put it in....i was planning on wasting all day playing it...haha

I want to buy it badly..I might get a laptop from the school auction and buy the game, but idk when the auction is...

Its amazing!! The graphics are great!! I think Ive become addicted to it!

I have a couple of friends with Macs who are into really into the sims, and they've had a LOT of bugs and stuff to try and figure out. Also, it says it is Mac compatible, but you have to have a really new computer or it probably won't work. Just a cautionary word for Mac users! I haven't heard of PC's having any problems.

I think it sounds cool. I've been pretty addicted to the sims 2 on and off for a couple of years. Don't know if I'll get 3, but I like all the different personality traits you can have!

I'm gonna buy it here in 2 weeks, once I get my paycheck. I'm terribly excited. From what I've seen here, it doesn't crash at all?
I had the sims 2 on my pc and it was constantly freezing. Hopefully ts3 won't freeze..

I don't get the sims games, I mean I understand other kinds of computer games...no everyone can be an SAS member or drive top class sports cares so sure get a game and experience that in a manner.

But isn't sims just a computer game about Real life things, like getting your hair cut and going on a date?

Oh yeah. It has glitches. Sometimes your hair goes away randomly. But thats pretty much it.

I'm buying it tomorrow. I can't wait! Lol. There's soooo much stuff I want to do.

I have yet to buy Sims 3. But so far looks like theres lots of positive feedback.

i got the game and started to install it at 10am, was still sitting there waiting at miday! because it wont run on my computer (since its ancient) ive had to put it on my dads, he ont mind. so i only get to play on it 3times a week! its killing me inside - i need a better computer so i can play it all day evey day! :)

i wasnt too impressed with the graphics, on low,medium or high.. :( but i love the traits. there are just so many choices!

btw, has anyone on your guys neighbourhood died yet? my dude got a call saying the old goth guy was old and wouldt be here much longer and that i should visit him. well i got the call in the middle of the night and by the time day came about he was dead! :(
i love how the neighbourhood grows up constantly. but not to keen on only having 1 family to control.

i need a patch for my game already!!
some minor glitches. even went 4days of playing for an hour then it crashing then me playing for an hour then it crashing! - not good. but other than that im lovin' it! im getting my niece into playing the sims now. 3 is way to hard and i got her to try 2 but she is struggling with that so i installed the sims (1) again, just for her and she loves it - its simpler! id forgotten how much i loved playing on the 1st one when i 1st got it, so i was up all last night playing it - memories!

if i could have any job in the world it would be playing on the sims (1,2 or 3)! that would be so freakin awsome!

^ It's mind boggling, haha. I would play "Insaniquarium" on a free game trail. The whole point of the game was feed your fish to make sure they didn't die, collect coins to buy more fish and food, and protect your fish... from aliens... Lol!?

These are computer games. Saying sims 3 is a good game is like saying Big Brother is real life TV.

Ive played Fallout 3 and all of the GTA's also played both Saints Row, The Godfarther 2 and a few others on xbox live. None of them compare to Sims (1,2, or 3)!

There good games i will give you that, but someone playing any one of the GTA collection over and over again would get bored with it and buy a new game, eventually it would have been replaced for something else.

Sims fans however - never come across that problem, there is always something going on in the game, new add ons, expansion packs, downloads and packages and hopefully one day Sims 4!

So dont rattle off what good games are - this is a thread for SIMS 3 and anything SIM like! if you want to talk about any other games then start your own thread - i will happily comment.

By the way...

have any of you put your own art, music, games and movies in the game yet?

as well as putting in my own objects/skins in i put in my own photography, when my sims paint - it looks awsome. plus i get to listen to my fave music and watch short clips/games.

i also love how the cheat for sims 2 works on sims 3!

another Question - anybody know the 3 money cheats for the sims (1). my niece is finding it hard to play the game without some money to get started - as 20.000 simeloneons isnt enough - especially after you buy the house. i used to know them off by heart but i cant remember anymore, its been that long.

i think 1 is klapaucious or something and rosebush/rosebud?? help!

I didnt know motherlode worked on the 1st one too!? 20.000 simeloneons is great for me to play with but my niece is 6 on friday and money matters are lost on her - ive had to download a rejuvination chamber for her incase she goes all in the red - a time of need not necesaty{SP}.

yeah you can upload anything - find the specific folder :ie: music or painting and remove whats in there and put your own in. i like to keep whats in there just incase. but yeah its that simple, i didnt know about it then when i was on sims 2 official site i was watching the mini movies people had uploaded, and i was like wow! it even said you could download theres to exchange in the game.

all of sims are freakin awsome! woop woop. :)

i made a new sim last night, with an artistic flair and she was 'chubby' - as EA puts it. she met a young adult too and got married 2 days before her adult change. she is now also pregnant -with a bump.. :) ..and vomiting everywhere..she doesnt know she is pregnant yet - it just comes up as naucous{SP} for no reason! hee hee.

Oh my gosh - i must add, my woman was in the spa having a mud pack or something, and all of a sudden - dum dum dum dark music!! a mrs landgrab died outside!! her husband was there and a little sign above his head said he was heart broken. i was like ohh... :( the grim reaper turned up and everything! so i dont really like that it automatically zoomed in on that!

P.S - appolagies for the probably MANY spelling mistakes...im having trouble pulling my brain together this morning.

why charasmatic, there are sooo many to mix and match.i like the kleptamaniac thing one, my guy came home with a lamp post the park, a seat from the grave, a plant from the pool and random objects from people homes! he he he love it!

The sims is like a weird version of the matrix, to me at least. A game about real life where all you get to do is everything you can do in real life.

Weird, but clearly very popular, but then so is big brother and all those other terrible reality shows were real people watch other "real" people living their "real" lives.

Weird.

Britt - BB is on over here - UK, right bunch of silly plebs are in there! for me its not who should stay its who bugs me more to get rid of them! pmsl.

for me sims is a place to act out what you cant do in real life. the safty way. cant get wrong or ruin lives if its just in your game.

Well since i last posted i bought a new computer because no matter what we did my old one wouldn't play that among many other newer computer games. so i installed it and have been addicted since =]. it's a really fun game. haha. me and eric in the game have 6 kids. =P. i was going to stop at 4 but then had triplets x.x lol

Hi im a bit sceptic about getting it because i have installed games on my laptop before and it runs really slowly does anyone else play it on a laptop and have the same problem?

Be careful - if you havnt turned the island living thing off, your neighbourhood could have completly changed. i havnt been on for 2weeks!!im scared incase the people i put in are all grown with there own families and aliens!!

i can bearly look after two adults and a baby so im not going to do the fertility thing - not a chance.

my sims dont need the charasmatic thing - all they need is flirt or good kisser! depends on what im feeling. i made 1 when i 1st got it who hated water and his partner who loved water..and they had a pool, sooooo fun!

On the game, you get the choice of turning something on or off. if you have it on - your neighbourhood carrys on living even if your not playing. if you turn it off it will be exactly the same as you left it when you saved and quit. having it turned on mean, your family and neighbours grow old,die, get married, get pregnant - have there babies, you get fired, promoted..it just carrys on living..

Omg, i wouldn't advise the fertility treatment. when i did that because i was curious, i had TRIPLETS. -dies- that wasn't fun whatsoever. if you want a lot of kids then i guess that's the way to go. but i'll stick to having one at a time ;]

I made the teenager a klepto and i only thought she came home with a trash can but when i checked her inventory she had tons of useless crap, which i mailed back to the owners, via mailbox.

does anyone know of a rejuvination chamber for sims 3? ~i know its cheating~

I struggle with looking after 3sims - so no way am i dooing the fert treatment!

i did the super green thumb and so far im still not sure what benifits it has..cant do anything diff or special with my plants.

hopefully be able to play with 1 family long enough to max out all the rewards!!

Is there anyway for a sime not to die of old age??
just i made a young adult, got her all the skills and locked her lifetime want, bought loads of things with the wish points and she has aged up and up and now in 72 days (fingers crossed its not before that) she will die! i didnt want her home and garden - to which i worked hours on just be not in use anymore so i made her adopt a kid. but still - i worked so hard for her to get all that stuff and now shes just going to die, there should be 1of those things you can drink like in the 2nd one were it stops you from aging for a few days.. :(

Well, my little old sims lady died..but its all good, i made another and now that ive fixed the timing i can play forever..well at least for 200sim days!

~btw, has anyone experianced any problems after they put downloads in the game??

Well 1 and 2 are fine but 3rd one not so much. i put ea downloads in and its fine i put a very reliably clean source of downloads in it and its fine. i actually think it could be certain patterns. as when i tried to load a game up it said there was an error and i should reset. but because i cant play the boared without going through the game i had to start a new boared, which im not really happy about but at least my original sim that died is back to her former glory. shame i have to do everything again like.

ive checked the patches available and none describe what my game went through and everything is up to date. but idk..

i find i dont play on sims 3 as much as i did on sims 2 or 1..i think because it takes so much time to do everything..that i get boared with it quickly - and i hate that i said that..it loads quickly but i just dont want to play it..i wont say ever as i know i will want to play it sometime, but i feel i play it for half an hour and get boared..never had that with the 2nd or 1st.
how long do you guys play it?

Does anyone have problems with the swimming pools? i think i may need a patch as mine compared to the pools in my sisters game - on a diff computer is broken..like a horrible colour and when my sims go to swim they disapear until i tell them not to swim..cant find any patches and havnt come accros anyone with the same problem so i emailed ea with screen shots..fingers crossed it will be fixed soon.

btw - anyone got the adventure add on, i love it but im stuck!

The French Landgrab Chataeu{SP}..i can only get around to certain areas of the house, and thats with the axe thing from China and all my skills maxed (well the ones that matter, ie:logic..etc). I can get to the right hand side of the attic but not the left. I can get into the dinning room but not the lounge, and i need keystones which i cant seem to find anywhere-im guessing they will be in rooms i cant get to as darkened out but its frustrating..I used the meditation to get me past the hall way with all the electricity bits in it, but because it takes a long time to achieve mental stillness i can only use it twice..my sim was able to shut down some of the boobytraps by sticking her hand in the holes but now the ones left are all saying there too advanced for me to deactivate..

..Aparently my sister has played it and completed it! Im soo jelous as she wont tell me where im going wrong. I figuered the hifi thing out on my own and the only info she would part wit was pee in the loo and you will get something.

So yeah im stuck with half the house completed. Any ideas?

My computer broke..the new add on killed it..my friend said the graphix card blew..so im simless until its fixed. needless to say im not happy about it.
