I have two decks a big one and small one though I know not what kind they are. I know many different spreads. I'm pretty good although it takes me awhile to do a reading for someone!.

I like Wicans and pagans, certainly more fun, belief wise that most other faith systems. Though I would say most of em pay too much attention to the specifics of ceremony and not enough to the mindset derived from the ceremony, which can be produced without the ceremony and is thusly not needed with sufficient focus.

Nice, I just pawned this topic.

I like chaos magic on buses and sitting on the toilet.

I don't do huge ceremonies unless I'm honoring the God and Godess or celebrating a holiday like Yule. I agree that sometime people go a little overboard.

You are all gonna burn in hell for all eternity you heathens. lol just joking. seriously though what a lot of christians dont realise is atleast half there religeon is based on paganism. everything from christmass to the jesus story was pagan first.

and jaysheen is popularity more important to you than what you believe in. you might even be amazed that people can like you even if your different. as i was one of only 6 people in my entire school of about 700 who was openy athiest( the other 5 where all my good friends who i converted to my way of thinking through reason and logic) and i was surprisingly popular, i say surprisingly as i was generally that quite kid in class who did my own thing and never gave a damn about being popular, i had a handfull of close friends who i cared about and everyone else could go jump as far as i was concerned. yet despite that i was welcomed and liked by nearly everyone and every group. from the emo's to the jocks. i think the only group of people who hated me where the damn preachers who used to come every thursday for an hour of religeous (christian)education. i managed to reduce some of them to screaming, frothing at the mouth and calling me every name under the sun from demon worshiper to satanist, through my calm use of logic, arguement and a thorough understanding of the bible(i was raised strictly christian before i decided the whole religeon was bs after reading the whole bible through) it was all really rather amusing before i was banned from religous education.

as an interesting side note for my matric final oral, which was a show and tell, i decided to bring the christian god in( as they all belived he was omnipresent) then spent the next 5 min using stuff from the bible to compare him to hitler or general mao , giving examples of how much of there religeon was pagan, and arguing that if he was trully omnipotent and omniescent then he must be a sadistic madman in a league all of his own. you trully should have seen the classes faces when i finished. a kodak moment if i ever saw one. yet despite all that i was very popular, they may have all being convinced i was going to burn in hell for eternity but they liked me never the less for some odd reason.

Thats really good. It's sad that today parents with cynical minds do things like that my parents are totally accepting.

Former Liber Kaous Nephtlyte here. I read alot of Crowly works, and focused on the practices produced by Chris Penzack cuz his rituals where simple, yet suffient. I do my own thing now, Im whats called a Christian Witch. Belief in God, but also the fundamentles in practical magiks haswell. That wich can be, will be. So to all, Brightest Blessings, and please, I would love to be friends with some heathens, lol.

Lets say a "magician" does some rituals to draw something into their lifes, lets say they want more love or money.

So they do whatever ritual they know, perhaps they repeat it over a few days etc etc.

Does this ritual have any power in of itself? Do the magical items, athames etc actually have power outside of our minds?

Or is it simply the case all magic does is make you pay attention to RANDOM chance encounters and conversations so that you might get what you want and it seems magical, but actually isn't.

You make it fit. People do this all the time. They remember the successes with magic but forget all the failures.

    It's all BS, no offence.

Kevin you are being way to quick to pass judgement on something you havent really thought about. magic does exist. every single one of us uses it ever day of our lives. our whole society and every social interaction is based on it. all that stuff with pentagrams and incence and candles is only a smoke screen so we dont investigate further and find out what true magic really is. you might think i am talking bs but i will give you a few examples of the most obvious areas.

firstly there is language. have you ever really stopped to think about what language really is. it is only meaningless sounds or lines. and the only reason it has any power is because people believe it does. the word "cat" has no relation to a cat in anyway but within our minds, and even then only symbolically. and even such a simple word as cat means different things for different people, let alone words like god or soul. also these meaningless sounds we utter are used to controll other people. to make them believe or think as we want. to do what we want. to love us or hate us or give us something etc i mean if i went up to my girlfriend tomorrow and told her i hate her and have been sleeping with her best friend for the last month i can cause her to feel and act according to my will. it dosnt matter if the words are "true" or not. that the words dont have any power in of itself. that outside of our minds they are utterly meaningless. they are never the less still powerful because we believe they are.

or who about or whole monetary system. a £20 pound note is nothing more than a piece of paper with colours on it. it has no power in of itself. it has no power outside of our minds. yet i can use it to feed myself. or get myself drunk because people believe in it. with enough worthless coloured paper i can get most people to do nearly anything. yet the money itself is meaningless without belief in it.

i can go an to say similiar things about concepts such as law, justice, mercy, love, hate, war, friendship etc etc etc none of these things have any power in of themselves. they are utterly meaningless outside of our minds yet that dosnt mean they are not powerful. you might say what i am talking about is not magic, but if you really think about it ,it truely is.

then we come to the rituals and pentagrams etc yes they may be bs. but most of what our whole lives are based on is pure bs. so just because something is not really real or has no power in of itself nor any power outside of our minds dosnt mean it is not never the less very powerful

Rocky I have thought about it, and read about it alot.

I think you're taking things like words, and coincedence and peoples ability to spot opportunities after thinking about what they want, as magic.

But hey, I'm not gonna debate you, if you really believe in magic, go here and get yourself 1mill.

I'm Catholic, and my best friend is Wiccan. I don't judge; she doesn't judge.
We've talked about it, however, and they're really based on pretty similar ideas.

Yet, noone would know the difference if they saw us walking down the street. Intolerance is ignorance. (Most of the time..)

Yes I noticed that. My parents accept me and friends do to but still when I talk to some people about it they always going to see me as the satanist sacrificing goats in the backyard thing.

My ex was wiccan and im baptist i have no problem with the whole wiccan idea. i read on it as well but not so throughly and i think its kinda cool. ive looked at other books in my library and bookstores and he had given me papers from websites and i think its quite amazing. i think like simple relaxing spells are okay and im not judgemental but anything above that i wouldn't try.
