Corruption! Will it ever stop?

Corruption, will it ever stop? Personally, I don't think so, for as long as we live, it will exist. It's been happening for hundreds of years, and it is still occuring today. It even occurs right here on this very site - People trying to bribe others for votes, comments, etc.

The interworks of such bribery on this site and the world for that matter are out right corruption at its worst. You want to talk about honesty, interesting topics, and the bitter truth? Well lets cut out all the bullshit, and have a reasonable debate then.

So really, this is what I came here to ask...is it ever acceptable to pay a bribe? Should companies who pay bribes abroad be prosecuted for it in their own countries? If so, is physical force a justifiable method of punishment (in third-world or the well defined countries)?

Should the ones who give bribes be treated equally to those who take bribes? And does the press have the liberty to express their thoughts on such corruptions? Is it freedom of the press or harrassment (when shoving a camera in someones face while asking questions)? Does it help or hinder the purpose of the free press?

Black money is nothing new, the government will always have a malicious cancer called corruption as long as people remain apathetic towards whats going on in their countries... Its a shame really...

As far as the press goes, it would seem that shedding light on the problem wouldn't cure or deter the transactions, and sadly they're not telepaths so they can't monitor every shady dealing...

As far as who deserves punishment, both dug their own graves to persue their own selfish greed...
