The Last Ten

3 years ago I wrote a poem as a tribute to the remaining soldiers that fought in the First World War. Today, we buried the last of these ten, Harry Patch. There are no more British Tommies.

I'm not asking for votes, and I'm not asking for comments. I'm just asking you read my poem, and spare a thought not just for the dead of the World Wars, but for all servicemen and women. Regardless of public opinion, it's sometimes easy to forget the sacrifice that simple, honest people will make in the belief of a cause.

    Cheers.
