What is the most romantic date you've ever been on, the sweetest gift you've been given, the cutest story you two have? Let's hear the lovey-dovey stuff. ;)

This is really sad to say it was my most romantic story, but it really is, so here it is.

I was on patrol with a female in my unit, (US Army, stationed in Iraq right now) and we were driving around the base to make sure no insurgens where doing anything. So were sitting there talking about life back home and our families and other things. and that alone was a wonderful time. So we pull up to the company Motorpool to park the HMMV, and we both take IOTVs and our ACHs off, (body armor and helmet) and just sit on the hood of the truck and bs about things all night. She ended up passing out laying on my chest. sorry to say, but to me, that was romantic. Two soldeirs just enjoying eachothers exsistance, nothing planed, nothing paid for, nothing involving the removal of clothing. Just me and her, chillin in a motorpool waiting for noone, nothing to do, didnt kiss or anything. That was probly the best night of my life.

Mine and my bf's first weekend break. We went camping (my first time camping!) and pitched up by a little fishing lake. We went for a walk when it was dusk and walked over a little bridge over the lake and stopped to watch the sunset. :)

And, when we went on our first holiday abroad together last year to Cyprus. We had been for dinner and came back and were drinking on the balcony of our apt when a shooting star skipped across the sky. Amazing. First I'd ever seen. :)

    :)

AND then there was the time before he went off to war and he'd stayed round at my parents with me. I headed back up to bed that evening after he had left and found a little note under my pillow which said that he would try to be as safe as possible and that he would be home soon and not to worry.

    Most romantic date:
I remember that night so very well. A deep, dark, navy blue sky. Clouds tinted turquoise from the moon. The moon shone through and cast pale shadows of light across the parking lot, grass, baseball diamond, play ground and our sprawled forms upon the blanket, which he'd unfolded. We laid there, watching the stars, clouds and moon above, talking. And as we talked he leaned in closer, I noted from the corner of my eye, one elbow at a time. Then, before I knew it, we were finally close enough for him to take the words--Literally!--right out of my mouth. It was simple, sweet and totally suspected, yet surprising. The setting was unbelievably jaw dropping and the moment was perfectly timed, from start to finish; from our departure to the park down to the giggles that escaped my lips after the kiss. It was my very first memorable and meaningful kiss. Everytime I look into the sky at night, on nights very similar to that one not so very long ago, at the clouds and moon, I think of him.

    Cutest story:
He told me he liked me since the very first day we met and would do anything to get me out of the house just to get to know me more, this included leaving his watch at my house that very first night. He and my dad worked together, so my dad told him he could come over to the house to get it anytime. But he didn't come pick it up for a whole week, that is until I came home (I'd left the very next day after we met and had been gone a whole week). When he finally came to pick it up he said, coolly, "I suppose your parents wouldn't let you out this late at night?" My parents overheard and immediately, practically, pushed me out the door.

My mom still laughs about that. That first day we met she asked me who this guy was that I (and my friend; Sarah, who'd also been present that day we met) was spending the day with. I told her, "He's just some guy we met walking around town. He likes Sarah." After a week had passed (when I came home) she quoted, "Just some guy who likes Sarah, huh? Is that why he keeps driving by our place a hundred times a day?"

    The sweetest gift:
The sweetest gift he's ever given to me was a sterling silver necklace with a heart-shaped locket and a plush wolf puppet (proceeds which went towards the education and well being of unprivileged children).

    :)
