    If you could be hanging out with any 3 people in the world right now, alive or dead, who would they be?

    What's your favorite animal?

    Cats or dogs?

    Apples or oranges?

    Yeah.. that's all I got.

  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago

    "If you could be hanging out with any 3 people in the world right now, alive or dead, who would they be?"

    Liz, Jamie, and you. Friends and family me the world to me, and to be able to hangout with Liz and her cousin, Jamie, as well as you would simply be wonderful in my eyes.

    "What's your favorite animal?"

    The Tiger, I've always liked them since I was young. I am also the year of the Tiger in Chinese.

    "Cats or dogs?"

    Dogs, although I do like Cats, I enjoy playing, hugging, cuddling, etc. with dogs more.

    "Apples or oranges?"

    Well, I literally eat an apple ever single day; however, I do enjoy eating oranges more. Not just regualr oranges though, I enjoy eating Blood-oranges. Infact I am growing a dwarf blood-orange tree from Sicily, Italy.

    If you were a fiscal conservative that lived with a Free Marketeer how sane would you be?

  • ASPHYXIATED
    15 years ago

    Joejoejoe.

    I heard a quote, or read a quote, or somehow know of a quote but cannot find the original quote anywhere.

    Its really annoying because I want to use it for an essay I have to write, which has to be based on a quote.

    All I remember is:

    "You complain about the youth of today but you're the ones who raised us."

    I'm sure its phrased differently but just can't find it.

    I've written 9 pages for my essay and if I don't find the quote I'll have to pick a different one and write another 9 pages by tomorrow. ):

    Have you heard it before or did I imagine it??

  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago

    Ryan: I'll be honest, I don't know a whole lot about fiscal conservatives and free marketeers so please correct me if I am saying something incorrect thank you.

    I think I'd be inbetween sane and insane. Why do I say this? Well because a Fiscal conservative and a free marketeer have simular vaules, as well as different. Both believe the government shouldn't control things such as personal properties and so forth, but a free marketeer believes that it would be a stateless society in which all are equals where as a fiscal conservative doesn't want government to run everything, but still wants a united country. So for me I'd be between both sane and insane.

    ASPHYXIATED: Well I'm sorry I can't be much of a help. I've never heard this quote before. I looked it up on google and couldn't find it or anything simular, again I'm sorry I couldn't be a help. Perhaps you could make a thread on the main forums asking everyone? Maybe someone has heard it before? I don't know, just a suggestion.

    Do you help elderly women cross the street?

    Can you peel an orange in one peel?

    Do you prefer biting into apples or cutting them up into nice slices?

    Would you live in Namibia for a year if the roundtrip flight and entire year's expense was paid for?

  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago

    Jay Perry JR: Yeah, ready? 1...2...3...buy a tickect and wait in line...lol

    `````````````
    Jane:
    "Do you help elderly women cross the street?"
    Yes, whenever I am crossing the street and there happens to be an elderly women; however, I must admit, I don't cross the street all that often, except on back roads.
    "Can you peel an orange in one peel?"
    I did it once and was never able to do it again...
    "Do you prefer biting into apples or cutting them up into nice slices?"
    I prefer to bit the apples. The only time I'll really cut them is if I am baking or want to dip them in something.
    "Would you live in Namibia for a year if the roundtrip flight and entire year's expense was paid for?"
    Sure, why not? I like an adventure every now and then. I know it is really hot there, lots of desert, diseases, and so on, but hey it's just another place on the map, and another adventure for one to endure. I'm all about learning and educating myself about other places and how they life as well as helping those in need. I know people whom came to the US when I was in high school from Africa to goto school. I also knew kids from Spain.
    I like traveling, and at somepoint, I'd like to live in different areas of the world: North America, South America, Asia, Europe, etc.
    Don't you think slightly arrogant of you to offer "advice"...[ad-vice] to random people who you don't know who might actually have some pretty serious problems and take something you say to heart?
    What qualifies you to offer advice to perfect strangers Joe about love, life etc etc? You're what, 26?...30? Old papa time eh?
  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago
    Kevin: You are right, I don't know who may have serious issues/problems and may take something I say to heart which in return may turn them to do something cause of me. You are 100% correct.
    What qualifies me to give advice? Nothing at all. What qualifies you, Jane, Bob, or anyone for that matter to offer/give adive? Nothing at all, we are all pretty normal people, we don't have degrees in psychology (at least not that I know of lol) and we don't do it for a living; but, if someone comes forth, why not give your personal advice and try to help the person whom is looking for help? I don't like sitting on the side lines when someone comes to me asking for help or advice, obviously people ask others whom they see fit to give sound advice.
    I am not solely saying that anything and everything I say will be 100% correct or the right thing to do in a situation, it is merely my opinion and only that.
    What made you ask me a question? Obviously you wanted to know what my thoughts where on the question at hand...
    haha... 26? 30? No, Kevin, I am not as old as you! I am 23.
    Joe,
    As I believe you are into politics and the like I would like to know your opinion on what Alan Graysons remarks on healthcare are. Also, do you think it is fair that he is blatantly avoiding apologizing for his remarks though he has been urged to do so? What is your opinion on Joe Wilson and his outlandish comments during President Obamas Speech? Do you think it is fair that he apologized and that Grayson refuses to do so? Just wondering your personal opinions of these people and what your thoughts about the subject are.
  • silvershoes
    15 years ago
    "What qualifies you, Jane, Bob, or anyone for that matter to offer/give adive?"
    I'd like to clarify to everyone that I got an A+ in Advice School.. so I'm extremely qualified.
  • Kevin
    15 years ago
    I firmly believe when somoene asks for advice, they are almost always looking for confirmation for what they know is their desired course of action.
    Unless it's something practical, like how to fix a flux capacitor..I don't know.
    I'm always very wary of people giving advice, cause whatever they say is their idea's and their thoughts, and they are rarely as insightful or relative to the situation compared to the person with the issue.
    I'm being anal about this.
    Joe joe....
    Lets say you thought someone close to you had very damaging beliefs, to themselves. What would you do?
  • silvershoes
    15 years ago
    Wait wait, so in this hypothetical, did the person with very damaging beliefs to themselves ask for advice? That makes a difference.
  • silvershoes
    15 years ago
    Going to have to agree with you here, Rikki. I think being prepared to give advice is in a way being prepared to care. I wouldn't give advice to someone if I didn't care about the issue that I'm advising. Nobody really needs to be qualified.. The recipient of the advice should be able to consider the advice and make a personal decision to reject it or accept it.
    But yeah, sorry Joe. Taking over your thread here..
    How many glasses of water do you drink a day?
    Do you want kids someday? Do you have names in mind?
    What's the last book you read? Was it any good?
    Would you rather be a stealth ninja or an angry samurai?
  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago
    I'll get to all these questions asap...I've been busy lately so it may take me sometime..
  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago
    Rikki: In all honesty, I'd probally do some reading on "peace and prosperity" since it is an interesting topic to me. Trying to normalize and unite/bond regions of the world peacefully is a feat which will take years upon years or simply put, it will never succeed. But in all due respect, I just find it to be interesting.
    To tell you the truth, I don't really read a whole lot, so I wouldn't have the slightest clue.
  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago
    Jay Perry JR: Talk to her, let her know how you feel about the situation at hand. Perhaps even give it some distance and don't go places where you know she'll be. It takes time to get over people, and more often than never, it is hard to get over someone if you are around them all the time.
  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago
    Dixiedaisy: To be honest I am interested in politics to a certian degree. I often hate talking about or listening about politicians and what my ideas/beliefs are about those outcomes or situations they put themselves in.
    As far as Alan Grayson, I really haven't heard a whole lot...so I wouldn't really be about to give an opinion there.
    Now for Wilson, I feel it was an urge to get out what he felt. After all everyone should have "Freedom of speech" correct? He did appoligize afterwards, but really if he meant it, I think he shouldn't have appoligized, he either should go all the way with his views or forget about them. If you think about it, John Adams did basically the samething when debating about the "declaration of independence" did he not? He defended his arguments and fought for what he believed even though a majority was against him.
    I don't know, perhaps it's just me blerting out my ideas/opinions, but after all that is what you asked for, my opinions.
  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago
    Kevin: Have them consult an professional. I am only a human being, no one is perfect, and I know I have flaws inwhich could potentially further damage that persons thoughts. But all in all, that wouldn't really stop me from trying to help them, I like helping people and to just sit aside and watch them deteriorate is not something I am prepared to let happen.
  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago
    Jane, indeed it does make a difference if the person asked for advice.
  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago
    Jane: Ahh I don't know, on average I'd say 6 - 8 glasses of water.
    Yes, I do want kids. I want 2 - 4. If I have a girl, I will name her Elisabetta in memory of Liz. As for a boy, I'd name him Filippo.
    To be honest, I'm not sure...
    An angry Samurai.
    Sorry to butt in, but "real" life? "Real" time together? I don't get it. I consider every second of my life to be "real" life.
    Are we in the matrix or something? Haha!
    Thanks for answering my questions Joe.
    Here's another for ya:
    Do you feel closer to long distance friends or friends you hang out with on weekends?
  • silvershoes
    15 years ago
    I'm of the belief that people say "P&Q isn't a reality" because it makes them feel like they have more of a life outside the internet. Yet, most people who say such things... spend hours every day online.
    P&Q isn't my world, but it's part of my life. I reckon it's real enough, unless oh dear.. wake me! I'm dreaming!
    I'm staying put.
  • silvershoes
    15 years ago
    You know, I definitely 'hear' you with the mannerisms and facial expressions.. you're right, we're all missing out on cute and annoying quirks that make us extra individual. Tone of voice can be remedied by talking on the phone.
    At the same time, I understand how Liz made such an impression on Joe. She made the same impression on me. I didn't believe in online friendships until Liz, but she changed my life in no small way and I can say very easily that she was like a sister to me. I'm not ashamed of how much I loved and love her.
    Anyway, I'm going to stray away from this thread for a while... didn't mean to take over, but I was moved by the last few questions and couldn't help myself. Sorry Joe!
  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago
    Illuminati RTVW: Well Alfred, as Jane stated, I also believe that every part of my life is "real" I mean it isn't a dream, it's not make-believe..or is it? haha.
    But anyways, to get to your question, I haven't had the pleasure of actually meeting her in person, but I did talk with her on the phone a countless number of times, via email, msn, p&q...etc. She was a part of my life, and made an impact on it. I loved her very much and still do love her. I don't care what people say, no one can take that away from me, those feelings, memories, and the images I hold within.
    So in a sence of mentally meeting her, I did - physically, I didn't, but in my heart and soul I did. So it is all open for personal beliefs and interpretations.
  • Italian Stallion
    15 years ago
    Jane: In all honesty, I don't really have a huge "relm" of friends in my life. I only had one real friend, which I haven't even talked to or seen in over 6 months now. So for me, long distance friends I deff feel closer to.
