Narphangu: If you are doing Art or drama, I'd say either California or New York since both states have a lot of well known schools in those fields. I would assume, Washington has a lot of 'silicon valley' stuff such as colleges dealing with communications maybe even music. Ecology, there are a lot of good schools in New York. For linguistics, English, and Russian, I am not really certain, because there are many schools that are good for those.
