Some people disagree with huge amounts of money being sent to Indonesia and India in particular because, both these countries are very well capable of re-directing massive military spending, to help their own people affected by the tsunami. I put it to you, that had this tsunami affected the United States the world community would be telling the USA Government to fix it's own problems.

    Cheers.

Isn't that a little cynical Kalah? For the first time since I was brought into being the vast majority of the world is working as one to help for nothing other than the greater good and for no other reason than they can.

True, it's taken an epic disaster of near biblical proportions to achieve, but we're there together all the same.

"True, it's taken an epic disaster of near biblical proportions to achieve, but we're there together all the same" - What about Dafur? Why aren't we helping there? More people have lost their lives in that disaster than those lost in the tsunami.

My thoughts are no more cynical than your morality is selective.

Good point though, in no way am i trying to o_O ... wrong your theories/opinions?

    Cheers.

    Heh, good point.

Don't worry about apologising for having a conflicting opinion, as long as we're all honest it doesn't matter.

I am saddened, because, over in Tasmania they are testing the seabed with seismic shocks to find oil deposits, which experts have suggested may cause massive oceanic disruptions...but they kept on going...even when 147 whales beached themselves at once as a result.

Now, is it still an act of God or mother nature when it might have been avoided by the actions of men?
