Is it true?

When someone is in love for a long time and then the person they were in love with hurts them and they say something like, "There's no such thing as love." are they just saying that to hurt them or do they really believe it?

I've heard a lot of things like this happen at my school. But, is it really true? Could they really feel that a whole relationship is just a stupid little game that people mislabeled as "love"?

Key word is School. You're kids and your hormones are RAGING!

The mainstay of love you have in school, despite the protestations of everlasting ardour is the fleeting kind. It's full on and passionate and can easily be mistaken for the life affirming partnership kind of love when 99.99% it isn't. Happened to me more than once and it's going to happen to you too.

But this is a good thing. You're growing, maturing and becoming. The last thing you need is to be tied down before you get the chance to explore your adult life with a free hand.

Most of the boys and just as many girls don't even care, they just want some ass (I should know, I was there) until the BBD comes along.

So with all of that in mind I'd agree completely that with almost all cases of teenagers the word love is totally mis-labeled.

I'm being blunt, I know. But believe me, blunt is good. Saves you a lot of unnecessary anguish in the long run.

Just remember there are so many different types of love and you're going to experience nigh on all of them before you work out what that life affirming partnership or true love really is.
